Sokka the 26th - [Action]

[It's a busy couple of days at the smithy for Sokka. Aside from the huge playground order, which is keeping the place running all day long, he has a few other projects to work on. His own private supply of Batarangs (the boy has gotta have a hobby or twenty), Smoker's Jitte, and hey, he even finished off that saw he was supposed to finish a long time ago for Edward's client, the Medic. It's amazing how much work a guy can get done when he doesn't want to talk to Raphael, because he's a jerk, and Winry because of soap opera-esque brooding. Well, Edward, at least Sokka still has you, you freakish mountain of a teenage boy.

He'll be home later for awhile after work, but then he'll be heading to the roof of the house. Why? Because it's time he got rid of that spotlight with the Batman symbol on it before it causes any unwelcome attention. Or at least, he needs to get the metal bat piece on there off. Too bad it's welded there. All that work to pry it off might cause him to accidentally turn the thing on a few times and illuminate a certain emblem in the sky. Oops?

Naturally of course, feel free to get up in Sokka's business at any point in the day. He also has his journal open, so he'll certainly speak up if his name is mentioned.]

[Eventually Sokka will notice that. Not as soon as she might have liked, but when he does, he's suspicious of a trap. So when he does show up, he's fully armed, with his hand near his knife in case something is up.]

Hello? Who's here?

*There is rustling nearby, and eventually, silently, Paru emerges from the cover of a bush. She hasn't said anything yet, and she looks like she's about ready to just run away.*

[Sokka's first instinct is to treat her like an enemy after their last encounter, but... he's been thinking about that a lot. Something wasn't right there. That wasn't the Paru he knew. So he puts his hand away from the knife. He's just... not sure what to say.]

... hi.

*Paru would have almost preferred he had- That would have given her an excuse to run away. As it was now, the awkward pausing and starting and all this was making this hard.*

... Hi. About before...

That... [Well, he should step up and be the one responsible for it.]

I'm sorry. You said I should have left and I didn't. It was my fault.

*For a minute, Paru is very confused. He was apologizing? And... what? She thought, for a moment, it might be better to let his apology stand. If it was his fault, everything was okay, she wouldn't have to face her own problems, or admit she was wrong, and...

Goddammit, this 'trying to be a good person' thing sucks.*

Don't do that! I came here to apologize, don't just go and beat me to it!

*... it's... a step in the right direction, anyway?*

[Now he gets to be the confused one. Well, okay, sure it made sense that she would apologize to him. But he was Sokka. No one apologizes to Sokka. They just laugh about it and he gets over it.]

You don't have to, really.

Yes, I do! I attacked you! Aren't you mad about it?!

Well, I was. Mostly I'm just kind of annoyed at it. [He shrugs.] I've had worse.

Annoyed- I tried to impale you on your own sword!

[He's about to go into explaining how she never had a chance of hurting him with the way she held the sword, but that's... not the point.]

Well... yeah. But you were upset.

That's not the point!

... alright, fine. [He'll just listen.]

I'm... sorry about that. I was panicking...

I guess I understand. I mean, you grew up all at once, so... [He doesn't really understand at all, actually.]

Don't pretend to understand if you don't!

*THIS IS HARD oh god am i tsundere now*

[His immediate response is annoyance. He's really trying to be the nice guy here.]

Alright. Fine. I don't understand.

*... crap.*

... Sorry. This is hard for me...

Well... why did you act like that, then? I had always thought we were friends.

[Well he has something he needs to do later, but... it can wait.]

*Starts walking, and if Sokka is paying attention to her stride, she is pretty clearly forcing herself to not just turn and make a break for it. This is hard for her.

Once they get inside, Paru takes a seat on her couch.*

... I was scared.

[Well, he does sort of notice it. In his own Sokka sort of way in that he doesn't put two and two together just yet. But once he's inside, he sits on the arm of a chair, not wanting to get too comfortable just yet. Her confessioj is a little surprising though.]

*Snapping, because she's not used to this whole honesty thing yet.*
