Sokka the 26th - [Action]

[It's a busy couple of days at the smithy for Sokka. Aside from the huge playground order, which is keeping the place running all day long, he has a few other projects to work on. His own private supply of Batarangs (the boy has gotta have a hobby or twenty), Smoker's Jitte, and hey, he even finished off that saw he was supposed to finish a long time ago for Edward's client, the Medic. It's amazing how much work a guy can get done when he doesn't want to talk to Raphael, because he's a jerk, and Winry because of soap opera-esque brooding. Well, Edward, at least Sokka still has you, you freakish mountain of a teenage boy.

He'll be home later for awhile after work, but then he'll be heading to the roof of the house. Why? Because it's time he got rid of that spotlight with the Batman symbol on it before it causes any unwelcome attention. Or at least, he needs to get the metal bat piece on there off. Too bad it's welded there. All that work to pry it off might cause him to accidentally turn the thing on a few times and illuminate a certain emblem in the sky. Oops?

Naturally of course, feel free to get up in Sokka's business at any point in the day. He also has his journal open, so he'll certainly speak up if his name is mentioned.]

*THIS IS HARD oh god am i tsundere now*

[His immediate response is annoyance. He's really trying to be the nice guy here.]

[Well he has something he needs to do later, but... it can wait.]

*Starts walking, and if Sokka is paying attention to her stride, she is pretty clearly forcing herself to not just turn and make a break for it. This is hard for her.

Once they get inside, Paru takes a seat on her couch.*

... I was scared.

[Well, he does sort of notice it. In his own Sokka sort of way in that he doesn't put two and two together just yet. But once he's inside, he sits on the arm of a chair, not wanting to get too comfortable just yet. Her confessioj is a little surprising though.]

*Snapping, because she's not used to this whole honesty thing yet.*

Yes, of you! And of Yellow, and of everyone else!

[He's about to ask how anyone could be scared of Yellow but... tact. Sometimes Sokka has it. He mulls over his words before answering.]

But why? I never did anything to you.

... you said we're friends.

So? I have a lot of friends.

I don't! I don't do 'friends'!

Why not? What's wrong with having friends?

It makes me too vulnerable!

*She clams up here, and looks like she might be on the verge of crying again.*

[He's not sure how to handle that. At least not at first.]

Look, Paru. You're not vulnerable because you're my friend. If anything, it means you're protected, because I don't let people hurt my friends.

... I thought... there was someone like that, in the past...

Well whoever that person is, that isn't me.

It's not so easy to trust people again! For the last three years, I've done my best to drive people away!

[He's quiet at that. He really... doesn't know how to respond to that at all. What happened to that little girl that trusted everything?]

*She looks away.*

[He removes the strap across his chest, loosening both his sword's sheath and the holster for his boomerang. He sets them both on the coffee table she totally has. His knife follow as well.]
