I guess that's it for the new people, unless it starts up again this month. Well, anyway, I'm Sokka. Or Sokka Thunderaxe as some have been known to call me. I'm fine with either one.

I run the smithy here in town, known as the Slash 'n Crash, along with Edward and Winry. They both work for me. [They don't, but this is some rather obvious trolling here.] So if you need any kind of weapons made, or sharpened, or you know... some other kind of odd job. I'm the go to guy for that. There isn't money, so... the stuff is free. But we do accept favors as payment! Or food. Or well, anything. Just ask for me, Sokka. That's with an okka. [Accept no substitutes.]

[Filtered to Raine]

Speaking of which, mind dropping by today?

[Filtered to Regal and Gelda]

Sooooo. [A beat.] How did it go?

[For you action lovers out there, Sokka can be found at his usual haunts. School, the smithy, eating lunch in the plaza, or generally hanging out around his house.]

[Today was just an average day for the Avatar house... or was it? No, it wasn't just because Winry and her housemates were still there. No, something far more ominous was going on. But hopefully the plumbing would work itself out later. On the other hand, Sokka woke up the same way he ever did. He threw on his clothes, parted his hair, and headed into the kitchen to make some breakfast. After bending the last of the milk out into his bowl of cereal, he sat down to eat, casually stroking his beard every now and then. Was he really the first one up? That was... really unusual.

Later on in the day, after his housemates have gotten a taste of the new Sokka, he'll hit up the town because frankly they've all changed in weird and strange ways. He's not sure why, but going to the smithy would make him feel better. Especially since it seems to be putting itself back together, despite the mess on the floor. Well, he is in charge of the place. Maybe he should get some orders for his two top employees. He makes a voice post on his journal.]

Looks like things are kind of getting back to normal, aside from some... admittedly freaky things going on. But hey! The smithy should be operational, just as soon as my workers get in. In a few days, we should be able to start taking orders again. Let me know what you need and I'll pass it on.

((ooc: In this AU, Sokka is the Avatar of his world. Details here. Longshot and Jet are also from this universe! Most notably, Sokka can now bend the elements, has facial hair, and is two years older at 18 (making him about 5'11, three inches taller than before). He also doesn't carry a single weapon on him. Weeeeeird. Final note! If I switch back to a regular Sokka icon, just imagine it with long hair and beard. Sometimes I gotta be expressive, man.))

Hey Captain! I've got something to show you.

[Filtered 80% to Housemates, Winry, Hugo, Caesar, Yellow, Paru, and... Gold.]

[This seems like a nice, ridiculous number of people to invite. For three canoes. Despite Yellow's suggestion, he doesn't include Red. He barely knows the guy, after all. Gold... well, he doesn't seem so bad.]

So some of you may have heard I was planning a little fishing trip soon. Not just going down the lake for the day, though! A few days camping under the stars, eating what we catch, living like real men! And uh, women! Just real living! It'll be great, trust me. There's even beach party opportunities, if you know what I mean. If all goes well, we leave this Sunday. So who's in?

[Filtered 80% to Okita Souji, Derek Bliss, and Smoker]

So uh.. I hope you guys don't mind if I miss training for a few days. I'll be taking some friends of mine on a big fishing trip for a few days. Unwind! Enjoy nature! That sort of thing. I'll try to keep up my practice on my own, but it would take a few hours to go meeting you guys back in the village, given where we're going.

[Open]

Hey, Edward. You okay with watching the smithy next week? I won't be around to run it. Oh and for everyone else, does anyone know any good creepy ghost stories for campfire situations? The creepier, the better!

[Once Sokka has made his messages sent out, he decides to enjoy the day off he scheduled himself from the smithy. So aside from attending school that day (and noting a specific lack of his sister, he decides to hang out on his roof practicing with a new flute he found. As it turns out, he's not very good with it just yet. Feel free to tell him to stop polluting the air with those horrible sounds. Hours later in the evening, he'll be off in the woods, deciding to enjoy some hunting. Anyone out in the woods at the time might find him skulking through the woods in his Water Tribe armor complete with wolf helmet. Because... he just likes an excuse to wear it.]

[It's a busy couple of days at the smithy for Sokka. Aside from the huge playground order, which is keeping the place running all day long, he has a few other projects to work on. His own private supply of Batarangs (the boy has gotta have a hobby or twenty), Smoker's Jitte, and hey, he even finished off that saw he was supposed to finish a long time ago for Edward's client, the Medic. It's amazing how much work a guy can get done when he doesn't want to talk to Raphael, because he's a jerk, and Winry because of soap opera-esque brooding. Well, Edward, at least Sokka still has you, you freakish mountain of a teenage boy.

He'll be home later for awhile after work, but then he'll be heading to the roof of the house. Why? Because it's time he got rid of that spotlight with the Batman symbol on it before it causes any unwelcome attention. Or at least, he needs to get the metal bat piece on there off. Too bad it's welded there. All that work to pry it off might cause him to accidentally turn the thing on a few times and illuminate a certain emblem in the sky. Oops?

Naturally of course, feel free to get up in Sokka's business at any point in the day. He also has his journal open, so he'll certainly speak up if his name is mentioned.]
markofthewise: (I see you)
[Early Valentine's morning before the sun is even up, Sokka will be sneaking about through town leaving some presents on the doorsteps of a select group of people. Under the mistaken belief he has to get all the girls he knows something for this very, very tedious holiday, Sokka has gone out on deliveries. He'll be knocking on the doors of the houses and apartments belonging to Nami, Winry, Anise, Mayoi, Paru, and Charlotte.

He'll be long gone before they (or their housemate?) answers, but what they'll find is a basket full of assorted chocolates and other candy. A card accompanies it with an extremely crude drawing of the person in question (interpret it as you will) with the message "Valentines !" on top and "Sokka" written on the back. Toph and Katara will both find the same thing left in their rooms as well. Zuko will receive nothing.]

((ooc: Feel free to get a hold of Sokka however you please. You can call him out on voice, written, or go knocking down the door of his house to demand an explanation.))
markofthewise: (I'm controlling you with my mind!)
[Tap tap.] This thing on?

Right, uh, a few things. First off, Toph, I got that thing ready. Took me longer than I thought it would, but I've got it at the smithy. Meet me there!

Zuko, if you decide to cook anything, watch the countertop! I don't want you crushing our new house guest.

So Winry, would you like to have Firebender A? I'd give you Firebender 1 instead, but I'm kind of partial to that one. In any case, I think my days as a Firebender are over. That really gets redundant when you say it so much. No wonder Azula was so crazy.

Let's see, am I missing anything... Wait! People can hear me still! Err... hey everyone. Sokka here. Don't mind me, I'm just... hanging out and doing my thing, that's all. Life goes on. But uh, in case you guys were wondering, it's less than a month until my birthday. Something to think about. I know I'm forgetting something here...

OH! RIGHT! Emil, I have your order done. Paru, how many of those prop swords did you need? I've got like, five of them, is that enough? Uh, Nash, the prototype on yours kind of uh... went to pieces. So I'm starting over, but I'm gonna get it right this time! Honest!

[...]

Oh, I guess I'm done here. So uh... yeah. That's it. [...] How do you turn this thing off... [Finally there's the sound of the book just closing.]

[Today is a special day. The plaza, though still with a good amount of snow on the ground, is one of those places in the village where enough shoveling and foot traffic has removed most of the snow. Therefor somebody who was absolutely not Sokka saw an opportunity. By noon, a small one-person booth had been set up in front of the fountain. A sign above it reads "FREE ADVICE".

Sitting at the booth is a particularly distinguished looking Fire Nation man twirling his manly mustache and stroking a very refined beard. He certainly seems to know what he's talking about and he's casually greeting people as they go by in that deep, almost booming voice of his. Having stress? Don't know how to deal with your feelings? In love with someone but they don't know it?

Wang Fire is your man and his Free Advice Booth is open.]
