Sokka the 35th - [Action/Written]

[It had been an unusually quiet day at the ~~Walton~~ Avatar house. Last night they had all exchanged their good nights. This morning they had all had breakfast together. But when dinner came around, one of their number was conspicuously absent. Electing himself to go yell at their time-dislocated buddy to come and eat. He didn't suspect anything, after all. Roku's staff was sitting off in a corner from when he came in earlier. But when Sokka knocked on the door and received no answer, he proceeded to push the door open...

And saw a sight he had seen before. An empty room. Back to the way it was when they first moved in, save for the paint on the walls. With a sigh, Sokka steps aside so Katara can see. This... this isn't going to be easy.

Hours later, Sokka will leave a message on the journals about it, opting to stick with writing to make things easier.]

Hey everyone. It looks like Roku lucked out and went home. Since he didn't get a chance to say it himself, thanks to everyone who was there for his birthday and stuff. You don't have to worry about him, though. He's got a big important future and is going to live to be an old man with kids. He'll even have statues in his honor. So yeah. ~~Still gonna miss him though.~~

I think he took it well. [Rarely has Sokka seen so many emotions cross a person's face in the matter of second.] At least he apologized for the whole tying me up thing.

[He can't help but realize how long ago that was.]

[Pffft. She wishes she could have seen that.] Well, I suppose I should talk to him about it now he's been fully informed. [And how. And her thoughts are going much the same place, really.] ...wow, that was six months ago.

Yeah... Katara wasn't even here, back then. [In a strange way, before Katara had come, he had though of Luceti as a quirky little vacation that wouldn't last long. It had long since passed that point.] Probably for the best. She'd probably cry at weddings.

[Yyyyeah, she kinda liked Luceti when she first got here, too.]

Hmm, I'm not so sure she'd cry at mine. Not when the bride and half the guests are there by force. I think her arrival there would be kind of ...impressive.

I don't think Brook was there by force. [In fact, Brook seemed pretty cool with the whole thing. He even gave Sokka something to drink while tied up, which was mighty decent of him.] You know, I almost miss the experiments. [They were so much better than the four months that followed the last one.]

...oddly, a lot of people say the experiments are bad news. But so far the two I've seen have been pretty harmless.

Well, the last one was an invasion of privacy. But still.

And Brook probably thought the whole thing was hilarious. I never did get him back for that.

[He nods at that. The love experiment was awkward. But the drinking party... it was fun. He feels stupid about it, but it was still kind of nice.] You know, maybe the Malnosso gave us all the bad guys because they ran out of nasty experiments to use.

Maybe you could uh, kick him in the head or something. [Sokka is curious how exactly you manage to get your foot that far up, you know.]

Maybe. I hope that doesn't mean they're thinking up nasty experiments now they've started sending some of them home.

[Oh well done, Nami. You brought it full circle back to that subject.]

If they do, I guess that means Roku was lucky enough to avoid them, then. I don't think he ever got to experience any experiments.

[...oops? Maybe we can skirt around the edge of said subject.]

I'd agree he was lucky. Shame I didn't get to know him better, but he seemed nice enough.

[He nods. Yeah, he was nice. Probably too nice. Must be some kind of Avatar curse.]

They didn't take his staff. I guess it wasn't in his room... so it's still here. None of us can use it, though.

His staff? That's weird.

...unless he had it made in Luceti or something. [But then, she guesses there's no guarantee that everything always goes back.]

Why can't you use it?

Yeah, I made it for him. It was made for airbenders to glide with. The wings aren't big enough for someone who can't bend air to use it, though.

Ah. Guess that's why it stayed behind, then.

Well...keep it. Just in case.

Yeah. Just in case he comes back and doesn't remember Luceti, right? Like I did. Twice.

I knew about the once from Vyse. So I tried to find out about it in the journals. See what kind of things I said and did. I ended up finding myself more than once in there.

A little, yeah. [How many people did he tell that he wouldn't just disappear on him the last two times?]

Huh. [And she can bet how unnerving that could be. Not to mention disheartening.]

...it's got to be weird for Zoro, too.

[Conceding that point, because teasing only goes so far, after all.] Yeah. He went home a few months ago, only came back after... [Pauses. When was that?] ...middle of April.

He was only gone a month. I don't think many people outside the crew really noticed.
