[It had been an unusually quiet day at the ~~Walton~~ Avatar house. Last night they had all exchanged their good nights. This morning they had all had breakfast together. But when dinner came around, one of their number was conspicuously absent. Electing himself to go yell at their time-dislocated buddy to come and eat. He didn't suspect anything, after all. Roku's staff was sitting off in a corner from when he came in earlier. But when Sokka knocked on the door and received no answer, he proceeded to push the door open...

And saw a sight he had seen before. An empty room. Back to the way it was when they first moved in, save for the paint on the walls. With a sigh, Sokka steps aside so Katara can see. This... this isn't going to be easy.

Hours later, Sokka will leave a message on the journals about it, opting to stick with writing to make things easier.]

Hey everyone. It looks like Roku lucked out and went home. Since he didn't get a chance to say it himself, thanks to everyone who was there for his birthday and stuff. You don't have to worry about him, though. He's got a big important future and is going to live to be an old man with kids. He'll even have statues in his honor. So yeah. ~~Still gonna miss him though.~~

Yeah, I made it for him. It was made for airbenders to glide with. The wings aren't big enough for someone who can't bend air to use it, though.

I knew about the once from Vyse. So I tried to find out about it in the journals. See what kind of things I said and did. I ended up finding myself more than once in there.

He was only gone a month. I don't think many people outside the crew really noticed.

Oh. [Awkward. Sokka feels kind of guilty about that.] I shouldn't have given him such a hard time then.

Oh, heck no. Zoro's whole purpose in life is to be given a hard time. Trust me, he's used to it.

Oh. So basically Zoro is kind of your Zuko. How strangely fitting.

[Snrk.] Just watch out. He bites sometimes.

Yeah. I tried to fight him, remember? I think his teeth are the last thing I have to worry about.

Point. But he never killed someone who didn't deserve it.

Well. Sure, but you'd be surprised what you can live through.

[Awkward silence fills the air.]

Katara will be fine. [In case you were worried and he knows you probably were.]

I know. She's strong. Probably not having so much of a good time right now, though.

No. She isn't. [He slouches forward a bit.] It's always hard when someone leaves. Especially for her. [And him. But he has his own ways of dealing with it. Usually by waiting forever for them to come back. ~~Just like Fry's dog.~~]

Well, that's three people in quick succession for you guys. That has to hurt a lot.

It happens to everyone here. [You just have to open your journal to hear someone informing villagers someone went home.] And nobody is coming here. So maybe it's just a matter of time for us.
