Sokka the 26th - [Action]

[It's a busy couple of days at the smithy for Sokka. Aside from the huge playground order, which is keeping the place running all day long, he has a few other projects to work on. His own private supply of Batarangs (the boy has gotta have a hobby or twenty), Smoker's Jitte, and hey, he even finished off that saw he was supposed to finish a long time ago for Edward's client, the Medic. It's amazing how much work a guy can get done when he doesn't want to talk to Raphael, because he's a jerk, and Winry because of soap opera-esque brooding. Well, Edward, at least Sokka still has you, you freakish mountain of a teenage boy.

He'll be home later for awhile after work, but then he'll be heading to the roof of the house. Why? Because it's time he got rid of that spotlight with the Batman symbol on it before it causes any unwelcome attention. Or at least, he needs to get the metal bat piece on there off. Too bad it's welded there. All that work to pry it off might cause him to accidentally turn the thing on a few times and illuminate a certain emblem in the sky. Oops?

Naturally of course, feel free to get up in Sokka's business at any point in the day. He also has his journal open, so he'll certainly speak up if his name is mentioned.]

Alright there. Do you maybe know why Alexei might have left my house so suddenly? It seems like he wants to keep a secret from me.

He left? [Finally!]

Actually, I'm not sure. But I don't think he's the kind who wants to be taken care of, do you?

He left in the middle of that thought experiment. I asked him about it and he just said that he couldn't stay around. He even left without even leaving a note.

Do you know anything that I don't?

[He's quiet for a moment. Well, he doesn't know a lot, but...]

I think he might be dangerous. Or maybe dangerous where he was from. Apparently where were warnings put out about him, but I haven't been able to find them yet. I know he managed to get into a pretty bad fight that left him in bad shape. My sister helped patch him up after that.

... and I think whatever he did in his home, he died for it.

[Mayoi is a silent for a moment. Maybe it's because that stomaching all that was rather difficult for her to swallow. Alexei is bad, but he never did anything bad. At least not that she ever saw.]

...I don't believe that. It doesn't make any sense.

I wouldn't make that stuff up. It's what I picked up from his thoughts when we talked.

But Alexei hasn't done anything evil here, right? I don't get it.

Not that I know of, anyway.

[He considers it though.] Maybe he thinks he's protecting you or something.

[Protection? What did he want to protect her from, the truth?]

...Do you know what he did that was so terrible?

... no. Not really.

I guess it's about time I started asking people about him.

I still don't believe this. You might not believe me, but Alexei is an understanding and nice person.

You might be right, Mayoi. Or he could just be a very good liar. I get a bad feeling about him when I talk to him.

I know he looks a little scary, but when you get more acquainted with him that changes.

...I trust him Sokka. Enough to tell him about what happened to me. I don't like you making me feel otherwise.

... I know. [And he means that in regard to everything. Including the fact she told Alexei what happened.]

I'm sorry. You can ask my sister, I get suspicious of a lot of people. I'm not always right. [Just... more often than not.]

...What's your sister's name again?

[It might be bad to say, but she really hopes he's wrong. If only this one time.]

Katara. You should meet her some time, you'd probably like her. More than me, anyway. She's the nice one.

I'm sure she's nicer because she's a girl. Girls are al~ways nicer than guys you know. [And that makes it more fun for when she tricks people.] Then again, comparing you to anybody would make the latter ten times nicer!

You shouldn't talk like that, Sokka. Low self-esteem issues aren't funny.

What would give you the idea that I have low self-esteem issues?

You make a big deal out of yourself for no reason. You're always talking like you know everything. You just called yourself a jerk. Should I go on and write you a giant list?
