Sokka the 17th - [Voice/Action]

[So after going around breaking hearts and fighting evil demons, Sokka has found a new hobby to get his mind off of how annoying Luceti can be. That hobby? Cooking!

Surprisingly enough, despite the fact he's used the smithy as his personal kitchen for the past few days, Sokka has managed to complete a batch of eel jerky (or rather, a dish of mán xiāng consisting of salt cured eel) that actually doesn't taste absolutely horrible. It's nothing exceptional, but it is rather tasty. He's set out a plate of the stuff in the smithy, along with some vinegar bowl in a display that looks nowhere near as nice as this picture. At the very least it looks edible. Anyone who for whatever reason decides to drop by the smithy today are more than welcome to try some of Sokka's latest cooking experiment. Otherwise he's going to be inviting people over the journal.]

Hey Sanji, Brook! I finished the eel jerky I told you about. If you want to drop by you can have some. Anyone else who wants some can drop by too, but it probably won't last long if everyone does, though.

[Sokka will wipe off some of the sweat from his brow as he comes in.]

Fixing, actually. Brook's sword got banged up in that battle, so he needed some repair work done.

[She nods. There's nothing strange in the fact that someone would go to Sokka to repair their weapon. He's been keeping up with his own since they were kids.]

So where's this eel jerky that you've been poisoning people with?

[markofthewise]

I haven't poisoned anyone! [Still, he goes to the counter where he has the stuff covered up, since he hasn't had anyone around in awhile. There's only half a dozen pieces left though. All for his sister to eat, of course.] I think you'll find them actually edible.

[markofthebrave]

[Katara follows him over and stares at the revealed jerky for a moment.] Well they look like the real thing.

[And Katara knows right how to eat them, dipping it in the vinegar and taking a bite.] Not bad, Sokka. [A pause.] Better than nuts.

[All the same she'll finish that one up and start on another.]

[A satisfied Katara? Eating his food? Clearly Luceti is a strange world indeed. He has a satisfied smirk at that. Sure, his food is nothing exceptional, but edible food is still an achievement, right?]

I'd be glad to give you the recipe, of course.

So I get stuck having to make it for you? No thanks.

[markofthewise]

Actually I think it's Sanji who will get stuck making it. Brook invited us all over for dinner.

We're going to have eel jerky for dinner?

[After meeting with Nami Unfinished threads, woe, Katara is not sure how she feels about this.]

[What did Nami do!? Is Sokka gonna have to choke a bitch?]

Probably more of an appetizer, but I guess that's up to Sanji.

[Not sure yet! But she was gonna poke about and make Katara TALK ABOUT THINGS, WOE.]

Did Brook say when we were invited over? [And did he warn Sanji, 'cause... yeah.]

Uh, I guess I should have asked about that part. [Pfft, this is the Strawhat house. The Gaang is the one that needs to be warned.]

Yeah, probably. [She takes another piece of eel jerky.]

...hey Sokka?

Yeah? [Magical melon drink icon. No monosyllabic replies here, ladies and gentlemen.]

...do you think Zuko's OK?

Zuko's dealt with a lot worse. [Us, for instance.] He'll be back when he's ready.

[markofthebrave]

[Silent: He just ran off.] Yeah.

[markofthewise]

[He worked that part out already.] It's anyone else who runs into him that I feel sorry for.

[markofthebrave]

[Have an attempt at a smile that falls sadly flat.] You know that against some of the people out here.. fire isn't going to do much good.

[She's got that right. There would be no reason to worry about Zuko at home, but here...]

If he's not back soon, we'll go looking for him.

[It's not that she wants to see him, it's really really not that she wants to see him, but... she doesn't want him out there and beating himself up over this stupid experiment, and she doesn't want him to get hurt because of it either.]

When's soon? The end of the week?

[Sokka nods.] I'm sure he has his journal with him, at least. He probably knows about... the whole thing.

The whole thing? What are you talking about?

[markofthewise]

The whole thing. [The experiment, Katara! Don't make him say it.]
