Sokka the 17th - [Voice/Action]

[So after going around breaking hearts and fighting evil demons, Sokka has found a new hobby to get his mind off of how annoying Luceti can be. That hobby? Cooking!

Surprisingly enough, despite the fact he's used the smithy as his personal kitchen for the past few days, Sokka has managed to complete a batch of eel jerky (or rather, a dish of mán xiāng consisting of salt cured eel) that actually doesn't taste absolutely horrible. It's nothing exceptional, but it is rather tasty. He's set out a plate of the stuff in the smithy, along with some vinegar bowl in a display that looks nowhere near as nice as this picture. At the very least it looks edible. Anyone who for whatever reason decides to drop by the smithy today are more than welcome to try some of Sokka's latest cooking experiment. Otherwise he's going to be inviting people over the journal.]

Hey Sanji, Brook! I finished the eel jerky I told you about. If you want to drop by you can have some. Anyone else who wants some can drop by too, but it probably won't last long if everyone does, though.

[Katara accepts your 'Lets not fight about this anymore' offering and hands you one as well.]

So... Winry, huh? Does that make things awkward?

[And Sokka takes it, chewing on it thoughtfully.]

It did for a few days, but we sort of agreed to never mention it again. [It got a lot more awkward than just a kiss on the cheek, after all. There was hugging and falling in fountains, after all. Katara might remember the awkward that ensued at the party.]

How's that working out for you?

[She does remember the awkwardness at his birthday party, but it had been pushed to the back of her mind with her own issues. And she's hoping the 'ignore it' thing works pretty well, because that is exactly what she's planning on doing when Zuko comes back.]

Enough for Winry to give me tips for dipping sauce, apparently. [So apart from some SEXUAL TENSION awkwardness, just fiiiiiine.]

Yeah? Did she suggest the vinegar?

[SEXUAL TENSION Awkwardness she can deal with. Maybe she'll be able to try to not to drown Zuko as soon as she sees him.]

Sweet and sour sauce, actually. Which means I'll have to make this stuff again, only at home. [Alas, she declared there will be no more food in the smithy.]

[Shrug] Just remember to clean up the kitchen when you're done.

[A beat pause and then] I redid the living room yellow.

[markofthewise]

... yellow. [Eyebrow raised.] I thought I was supposed to be the one with bad taste in colors.

Oh, and I suppose you think purple's a better idea. You haven't even seen it yet! It's a very light yellow. It's called 'flax' and it's kind of like -- stepping into sunlight.

Fine, if you think it looks good, let's go see it.

Fine. Let's go, then. [So she'll cross her arms and wait for him to clean up. Of course, her stated purpose is for this room to be comfortable, so if he really hates it she'll have to find some other color -- but that doesn't mean she'll be gracious about it.]

[It doesn't take long for him to clean things up. Besides claiming the last two pieces of jerky to take home, he's leaving most of the mess for Winry to deal with. It's their HAPPY ARRANGEMENT. Or something. Actually he does goes back to do... something with Brook's sword. But after that and tidying up and throwing away his junk and then locking up, he'll leave a huge mess for Winry to tidy up. Like... that sword he left on the couch. Yeah. Passive aggressive payback time.

Anyways, once they're outside the smithy...] So why yellow?

I thought you were spying. [Pause a beat.] It's better than red. Couldn't do blue. [Shrug. You figure it out.]

Conversations about paint are amazingly dull. Not going to lie. But anyways, at least you didn't go with Foggy Swamp Green like I told Zuko I was planning to use.

[Right, Sokka. Sure, she'll buy that.] No. No green. So all my conversations were boring, huh?

[markofthewise]

[He thinks about that for a bit.] You seriously need to stop talking to Ami. That girl is crazy.

[markofthebrave]

[Oh look, he anticipated her next question! Darn. But...] Ami? The girl with the blue hair? She told me her name was Mercury.

Well Ami is how she introduced herself to me. Back when she used to have this whole fake smile routine like Joo Dee.

[markofthebrave]

Mind control, huh? Do you think that's what it is? Because there's something seriously wrong with her. She wants to murder these people from her world -- but at the same time she's calling them her friends! And talking to her is a lot like trying to talk to a wall sometimes.

...do you think she came here brainwashed? All her thoughts seem to be centered on defeating her 'friends,' here or at home. You don't think there's another Lake Laogai around here, do you?

If it's mind control, I think she was messed up before she got here. I'm pretty sure she showed up around the same time I did, after all. When I met her, she seemed... different. Like maybe she was trying to make friends, despite the whole creepy smile thing. Or maybe not.

Although now that I think about it... [He trails off as something begins to click.]
