Sokka the 17th - [Voice/Action]

[So after going around breaking hearts and fighting evil demons, Sokka has found a new hobby to get his mind off of how annoying Luceti can be. That hobby? Cooking!

Surprisingly enough, despite the fact he's used the smithy as his personal kitchen for the past few days, Sokka has managed to complete a batch of eel jerky (or rather, a dish of mán xiāng consisting of salt cured eel) that actually doesn't taste absolutely horrible. It's nothing exceptional, but it is rather tasty. He's set out a plate of the stuff in the smithy, along with some vinegar bowl in a display that looks nowhere near as nice as this picture. At the very least it looks edible. Anyone who for whatever reason decides to drop by the smithy today are more than welcome to try some of Sokka's latest cooking experiment. Otherwise he's going to be inviting people over the journal.]

Hey Sanji, Brook! I finished the eel jerky I told you about. If you want to drop by you can have some. Anyone else who wants some can drop by too, but it probably won't last long if everyone does, though.

It's at the smithy. Are you sure you won't get lost on the way? I could send someone to bring you.

Why would I get lost? I don't think I've ever claimed to have a direction problem.

I should tell you about the month I was employed as a baker.

Did anyone die from it?

Of course not. I just had to wake up early, and that soon stopped being interesting. Plus, there was a misunderstanding with the boss's daughter...

I can't imagine why anyone would misunderstand you.

Me neither. And yet, it happens so often!

[And, some time after saying this, he'll turn up in the smithy to try some of Sokka's exotic food.]

[And when Nash shows up, Sokka will be sitting around eating a sandwich. It's lunch time!]

I wasn't sure if you were actually coming.

I like to be unpredictable.

In that case, you should have jumped through a window or something.

Maybe next time I'll come in through the chimney. I have to admit, though, I like timely appearances more than dramatic ones.

It wouldn't do to have dirty hands anyways. [He gestures over to a counter where he has the food set out.] Care to try?

I always wear gloves.

[He'll walk over to the table where the food is, examining it for a second with his hands held behind his back.]

Are there any rules about how to eat this, or can I just dig in?

You should probably dip it. Not as good without the vinegar.

[latkje]

[Nash removes one of his gloves— probably from whatever hand he said wasn't made of wood. I forget which one that was. Anyway, the important thing here is that he eats some of the eel jerky, and seems to like it.]

Not bad, Sokka. Not bad at all. Is this what you ear back home?

[Sokka watches in anticipation... until Nash pulls off the wrong glove. Damn.]

Well, usually I use this stuff for bait...

[Well, he still has a rune on this hand, and Sokka can see that. Which is one of the actual reasons Nash wears gloves.]

Then how does the vinegar come into it?

Well ketchup, mayonaise, mustard, and honey didn't seem to be working.

[And then he'll glance at his hand.] Did that hurt?

Did what hurt?

That tattoo on your hand.

[He shakes his head.]

It's not a tattoo. And not in the way you're thinking.

... so you just colored on your hand? I thought only little kids did that.

[He laughs.]

No. It probably wouldn't do me much good if it could wash off. I forget that most people here haven't heard of runes.
