Sokka the 48th -- [Voice/Action]

[After being sent home in his own bed, Sokka had slept in a bit, finally had some real food and then went to see Suki. By now, he figures he should check to see how things went. Thus, he has a message to leave.]

Well that was a lousy week. How's everyone else doing? Did I miss anything?

Oh and uh. I think I might have to take the week off from the smithy. Maybe longer. That goes for training too.

[... yeah, that should do. He'll hang around town acting just a bit odd. For instance, very gently and very slowly opening the doors to shops. He doesn't bother going to the smithy. He's mainly just trying to stave off boredom due to the fact he really can't do much of anything now. Stupid Malnosso.]

Uh. My nightmares tend to be pretty freaky to begin with.

But vampireless, at least? [She hopes for your sake, Sokka.]

Well... last night I dreamed I was at home. And then Momo - our lemur, was eating fruit. And then the fruit started attacking him. So Appa showed up and yelled at them until they went away. But then it turned out it wasn't Appa, I was the one doing the yelling. So Momo and I had to start fighting off the fruit, but then they started biting me in the neck. I was ripping them off... and then this crazy lady who was kind of... wild started yelling at me. I tried to ignore her and told her I had to get to the store to get some rice.

But when I got to the store, Aku was destroying the store. So I started fighting him with Jack... or maybe it was Momo, I can't really remember. Then Flameybrows - uhh, that's what we called Aku, got mad and changed forms into this... angry bearded guy. He was saying all this stuff about the Malnosso, then I started saying all this weird stuff about how he should try speaking slang. Which was weird, because sure I like slang, but I was kind of just making up stupid words. And then I killed him. With a scythe, not my sword. That was weird. And then Katara showed up and was yelling at me for washing my clothes in the dishwasher. And then...

[Feel free to stop him at anytime.]

[She was about to ask him if he meant Jack Sparrow when--Bearded angry men? A scythe? Her eyes narrow and her face contorts into a kind of worrying concern. It had been a joke, before. But this?

Buffy stands, reaching out and settling her palm lightly on Sokka's shoulder.] What colour was the scythe? [Her voice is quiet, but insistent. Not quite the happy-go-snarky tone the girl normally sports.] Was it red? Was it like--like the colour of my wings?

[He gives her a weird look, glancing in her direction.]

Uh yeah, I think it was red. At least at first. When Katara was yelling at me, it was a giant spoon.

Sokka, I--[she frowns some more.] This question is gonna be the total definition of indelicate, but...are you sure you're not actually a member of the fairer sex?

What!? Yes! Of course I'm sure! Look, sure, maybe I dressed as a female warrior once, but that was the only way Suki would-- errr.... [Dammit Sokka, stop your mouth from running!] Forget I just said that.

S-sorry, it's just...[she waffles, still unsure of her approach.] It'd be kind of a crazy coincidence that you just happened to be dreaming about my battle with the Third Party's leader while also going all super-strength around town. But like I said? Only girls can be Slayers, so...

Well whatever. I mean, it's gonna go away soon enough. Hopefully. It's probably just a coincidence. [Although he can't help but be concerned. He had memories of fighting someone Buffy did? That didn't make sense...]

[Almost as if Sokka hasn't said a thing:] Hit me, okay? Stomach, shoulder, face? Whatever. Just--I gotta know.

... what? No! I'm not going to hit you! Are you crazy!?

Don't make a fuss, just--I've been hit by a Hell-God before. In case you don't know what one of those is? They suck, big time. And they punch like a mack truck. [He doesn't know what one of those is either, Buffy.]

Hit me, or I'll try and hit you. A plate of muffins says I know exactly how your gut'll tell you to block.

[Brilliant logic there, Buffy, except Sokka already has trained instincts on how to block. And he does know what a truck is, actually. They're in his world. For some reason.]

That's all good and well, but I'm not going to go hitting you for no reason. Muffins or no muffins.

Fine, I'll just have to--[she pats down her pockets, reaching for that wooden stake she carries with her for all her vampire-hunting needs. Just in case.

She tosses it easily to Sokka.] We'll skip the practical and hit the theory right on the nose. Theoretically hit it, of course. [Hah.] That--do you know how to use it?

[Sokka glances casually at the stake.]

A clumsy weapon like this, you'd want to hit someone where it would hurt. Either like this... [He holds it like a club.] With a good knock the on the head. [And then he spins it with the sharp end forward.] Or stick it where it will do the most damage. The heart, for instance.

It doesn't feel at all--y'know--right? Doesn't put you in the mood for some dusting?

[Relief is almost filling her face. Maybe she was wrong. Maybe it was just one big massive and wacky coincidence.]

[Glancing at it now. And thinking back some...]

Uh. Well... there is this... little girl. I wouldn't mind using it on her. [Blink. Err wait.] I mean, over the head. The club bit. She was being all bratty about how vampires weren't bad people, despite what Derek said.

Rachel. [She guesses, from what Xander and Giles have told her. Buffy has never met the girl, but she sounds like someone Buffy wouldn't want to meet either. But mentioning Derek reminds her of how strangely she can feel even Derek's presence, though he's not one of her kind of vampire. But Spike is.]

Look, have you been around community building numero two, today? Like did you even maybe walk past it at all?

[No, it wasn't Rachel... but he's distracted by the question.]

No, it's kind of out of the way. Look, what's with all these questions? Do you think I'm actually a Slayer now? Because if it involves waking up as a girl in a few days? I'm not interested.

I said only girls could become Slayers, not...all Slayers become girls but--I don't know. Maybe it's nothing. Or maybe the Malnosso learned something no one's learned before when they pilfered my powers way back in January.

Or it could all be a coincidence! It's no big deal. [He hands the stake back.] Look, if I start speaking in weird slang and start serving alcohol, I'll let you know.

Okay--seriously? Those things have nothing to do with the Slayer thing. Those things are totally me.

So I don't have to worry about that. See? I'm relieved already. [See? He's totally okay with this.]
