Sokka the 48th -- [Voice/Action]

[After being sent home in his own bed, Sokka had slept in a bit, finally had some real food and then went to see Suki. By now, he figures he should check to see how things went. Thus, he has a message to leave.]

Well that was a lousy week. How's everyone else doing? Did I miss anything?

Oh and uh. I think I might have to take the week off from the smithy. Maybe longer. That goes for training too.

[... yeah, that should do. He'll hang around town acting just a bit odd. For instance, very gently and very slowly opening the doors to shops. He doesn't bother going to the smithy. He's mainly just trying to stave off boredom due to the fact he really can't do much of anything now. Stupid Malnosso.]

It proves that--for some reason--you now have some kind of innate sense of a weapon you weren't even sure you could aim too well. There's talent and then there's skill and both are pretty much integral. But--the inborn talent thing? That's a total Slayer trademark.

[A slight shrug.] Probably not. There are vampires here, but they're not exactly the stakeable sort. But I guess I should probably bring you to Giles' attention before this whole thing...wears off.

He's..a Watcher. Ex-Watcher. He knows about Slayers and...stuff.

Right, so you say. But what if I decide I don't care? I mean, you said there's no vampires for us to go killing. So why even bother? It's not like I'll be a Slayer forever.

It's a big deal 'cause--well, Sokka? It shows just what kinda horror the Malnosso are capable of.

Well, yeah. We kind of knew that part already. I mean, all the other weird stuff they've done? Just throw this on the pile.

It means they could have an army of Slayers, if they wanted to.

No offense, Buffy, but I think an army of, say, Supermans or Akus would probably be scarier.

Oh? You try and figure out how to best cripple an army of hormonal teenage girls. Th-though, I suppose what with all this--[waving at Sokka]--they don't have to be girls for the Malnosso's army. Or teenaged. Or even hormonal.

Hey--as far as I'm concerned? Sixteen isn't late when it comes to this kinda thing. Just like every other age, it's way too early to have a whole heap of responsibility forced onto anyone. But--seriously? Only sixteen? I really would have pegged you for older.

Maybe. Just a little. But I mean it when I say I wouldn't have guessed sixteen.
