Sokka the 47th - [Voice/Action]

I guess that's it for the new people, unless it starts up again this month. Well, anyway, I'm Sokka. Or Sokka Thunderaxe as some have been known to call me. I'm fine with either one.

I run the smithy here in town, known as the Slash 'n Crash, along with Edward and Winry. They both work for me. [They don't, but this is some rather obvious trolling here.] So if you need any kind of weapons made, or sharpened, or you know... some other kind of odd job. I'm the go to guy for that. There isn't money, so... the stuff is free. But we do accept favors as payment! Or food. Or well, anything. Just ask for me, Sokka. That's with an okka. [Accept no substitutes.]

Sooooo. [A beat.] How did it go?

[For you action lovers out there, Sokka can be found at his usual haunts. School, the smithy, eating lunch in the plaza, or generally hanging out around his house.]

[It'll be a few minutes for her to gather up her work and so forth, but given the size of the square, she's at the Smithy reasonably quickly.]

[Sokka's not doing much. Hanging out on the couch. His school stuff is beside him, completely disregarded as he chugs down on an orange soda. Once he hears her come in, he stands up.]

Hey professor. Did I interrupt anything?

[She hasn't been in here for a while, so she gives a quick glance to the room.] Not really; I can just pick up where I left off later.

Okay, good. [Not that he was overly worried or anything.]

Remember how you asked me to keep an eye out for your staff?

Yes, of course I do. Although, I was beginning to wonder if they'd show up at all.

Yeah. Well uh. [Hrrrrrm.]

I'm not sure if this is yours, but... [He gestures for her to follow him. He has a rather... unusual staff sitting on one of the displays.]

... this yours?

[... Oh cute, Catherine. That staff wasn't in any of the descriptions she gave him. The staff even reacts when she goes near it, a little light seeming to swirl in the red sphere.]

... The Heart of Chaos ...?

Uh, sure. That sounds appropriately creepy. [Eheh... The fact it's reacting means he was right.]

It's been here for awhile now, but none of the New Feathers came and picked it up, so...

Understandably so. [She shakes her head a little.] I appreciate you bringing it to my attention, Sokka.

[She supposes she's going to have to take the thing, too. What a terrible feeling. Which isn't helped by all of the energy spent healing Emil the previous night.]

I... take it you're not too thrilled by having it, huh?

[Riku picked up an equally wicked looking sword at the smithy. He seemed thrilled by it. But Riku is kind of a weird guy, so...]

It's ...... not what I was expecting. [Even holding it is making her more tired.]

You haven't seen any others like it around, have you? ... Except they wouldn't be in the form of a staff.

[He can already tell she's sagging a little more than before. Huh.]

No, that's the only one. Is there more?

There are eight others, each a different weapon. Twin swords, a dagger, a kendama, a sword, an axe, a set of cards, leg guard, and a chakram. ... Although if any were to show up here... it would likely be any of them aside from the twin swords and the kendama.

Though ... I don't honestly know how likely it is for any of them to show up at all. This was probably more of a fluke than anything else.

So... what's the deal with them?

'Deal'? [A considering pause.] ... Actually they're just connected to a legend, back in our world. [...] Well. Perhaps a little more than just a legend. In any case, we had resolved the problem surrounding them. They just aren't exactly pleasant to have around.

Right. [Frowning.]

It seemed like it reacted to you. And you don't look as... energetic as before. [Not that he's ever seen Raine all that energetic, but he's never been in any ruins with her.]

I suppose that's just it's way of... acknowledging me as it's bearer. [She doesn't sound too happy about that either, though.] It's been a long time since I've last had to use it. I'm probably just not used to it.

Acknowledging you? Like it's alive? [Blink.] Is it feeding off your or something?

[She blinks a little at that.] I ... it shouldn't be. We sealed the weapons away after we defeated the Demon Lord and after breaking the curse over them. So it shouldn't have any reaction to me at all.

[And yet it did. So color him concerned. But, well, he does respect Raine. She knows what she's doing, right?]

Well, if you think it's safe then... [But time is relative in Luceti. He shouldn't even HAVE his boomerang and space sword.]

Do you have something I could use to wrap it up in?

Sure. [He grabs an old burlap sack from a pile and holds it out.]

This should do the trick.

... Thank you. [She reaches to take it, carefully wrapping the staff. Already that's a relief. The feeling is still there, but it's not as strong once she's not touching it directly.]

[Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.]

You know, maybe it's better you don't use it. I'm sure your other staffs will show up soon.

... I hope so. [The only good thing about the staff is how much clarity it provides for spells. But it's not worth the risk of everything else. She'd be in trouble if she bumped into Yuber on the way home with this weapon.] I'm not planning on using it, if I don't have to.
