Sokka the 47th - [Voice/Action]

I guess that's it for the new people, unless it starts up again this month. Well, anyway, I'm Sokka. Or Sokka Thunderaxe as some have been known to call me. I'm fine with either one.

I run the smithy here in town, known as the Slash 'n Crash, along with Edward and Winry. They both work for me. [They don't, but this is some rather obvious trolling here.] So if you need any kind of weapons made, or sharpened, or you know... some other kind of odd job. I'm the go to guy for that. There isn't money, so... the stuff is free. But we do accept favors as payment! Or food. Or well, anything. Just ask for me, Sokka. That's with an okka. [Accept no substitutes.]

Sooooo. [A beat.] How did it go?

[For you action lovers out there, Sokka can be found at his usual haunts. School, the smithy, eating lunch in the plaza, or generally hanging out around his house.]

... Thank you. [She reaches to take it, carefully wrapping the staff. Already that's a relief. The feeling is still there, but it's not as strong once she's not touching it directly.]

[Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.]

You know, maybe it's better you don't use it. I'm sure your other staffs will show up soon.

... I hope so. [The only good thing about the staff is how much clarity it provides for spells. But it's not worth the risk of everything else. She'd be in trouble if she bumped into Yuber on the way home with this weapon.] I'm not planning on using it, if I don't have to.

Good, good. Old Catherine is bound to get it right, eventually. [Maybe.]

Maybe. I suppose all we can do is just wait until then.

I'll definitely let you know when another one shows up. [He walks over to the couch. His hawk, incidentally, is beside it on his own personal perch.]

All right. I'll manage just fine until then.

You know. Things. Like... at home. School. Friends. That kind of thing.

[It's a lame segue into something less creepy.]

Oh. Things are... fine, I suppose. What about yourself?

Well, you know. Doing the school thing... got work at the smithy. [He points up at his bird.] Hawky showed up a few weeks ago. So did my girlfriend. [Who he's been dragging to school with him. It should be rather obvious who she is, given how much of a distraction she is for him.]

Yes, I've... noticed. I'm wondering if I'll need to enforce seating arrangements.

Yeah, well... wait, why?

It would make for less distractions.

I don't know what you mean.

No, I suppose you wouldn't. [Sigh.] In any case, I should probably start heading home. [While it's still light out. Or before any creepers come out. That kind of thing. She still looks drained, though.]

[Yeah, he notices. That doesn't seem right. He'd feel guilty letting her carry that... thing home alone.]

I'm pretty much done here for the day and you're place isn't really that out of the way...

[She tilts her head at him.] Are you... offering to see me home, Sokka?

Uh. Yeah, is that okay? [Is this a violation of the teacher and student relationship?]

... Yes, it's fine. Thank you. [She just wasn't expecting the offer.] If you're certain it's not out of your way, of course.

No, not really. I always take the shortcut through the woods anyway.

[He walks over to Hawky and gets the bird to climb on his shoulder.]

All right. [She usually does too. Unfortunately, that's where she's gotten attacked the most. She adjusts her hold on the rod, making sure it's wrapped securely.]

Yes, I'm ready.

[He usually manages to avoid getting attacked too often. One of the advantages of not living with Yuber's summoner, perhaps. He goes to the door and opens it, waiting for her to follow.]

So, I found out the library? You're not supposed to just take them and put them back in any spot.

[That doesn't have much to do with it, since Yuber didn't even know Raine lived with his summoner until recently. It's just ... bad timing. She does shake her head at his little 'quip' as she follows after him.]

That's only common sense, Sokka.

[He frowns at that. What's common sense doesn't always apply when you grew up in a tiny village.]

Hey, in my defense, I was only in one library before the one in Luceti. And it was run by the Spirit of Knowledge in an ancient underground library. Foxes went out and brought books to add to the collection. I just figured this one... Shifted the books back to the right place. Like the grocery store.

I see... to be honest, I wasn't certain if you were joking or not. Initially, this particular library wasn't actually tended by anyone here, or used very often; those who did use it were able to find themselves books whenever it was necessary. Eventually, sometime after the population began to grow, an entire system developed around it.
