Sokka the 37th - [Written/Voice]

[Sokka's journal is writing out some strange stuff, none of it that Sokka wrote. Or at least, doesn't think he wrote. As he goes over it, he voices his comments at some of the really weird and cryptic messages it's giving him.]

Sokka Thunderaxe Bored today. Don't feel like working at the smithy today. Guess I'll check up on what I've missed.

Sokka Or, you know, just literally showered. In chocolate.
Raine It just seems more like an annoyance than anything else. That really won't stop people from complaining.

They get tossed, unless you have anything better to do with them.

[Sokka is Water Tribe. They do not waste food. Her suggestion is somewhat insulting, really.]

Put them in a bowl and put them in the fridge. Maybe I can dry them out and eat them later.

[Sokka in the meantime has filled up both of the bowls and brought them back to the table.]

It's something I kind of learned at home. We don't waste anything. Most of the time, we can't afford to.

There was never any need to where I lived. I mean the farmers probably did the same, but we supposedly lived in a time of prosperity.

[This time, he takes careful note of the ingredients.]

What do you mean 'supposedly'?

Before I came here I learned that the country I lived in was built upon shedding blood so that some guy could sacrifice all the people living inside it to open some kind of Gate. I knew the Ishbalan war was wrong, but... I didn't know it was staged. Our country was built on a lie. It's sole purpose was to eventually be destroyed.

[One cup of sugar... two tablespoons of sugar, and half a teaspoon of cinnamon. Check.]

[But that does he even say to that? He'd never seen a country out for its own destruction.] Wow... that's rough.

It's okay though, it won't end that way. I know it.

[Salt and vinegar... isn't there a proverb about that? Hm.]

Well, it's like I told Edward. Uh, big Ed, not yours. Any of the people I talk to where there's big battles to be won, the good guys always seem to come out on top. Say what you like about them, but the Malnosso don't pick losers.

Yeah, we won alright. I was able to enjoy a whole week of not fighting the Fire Nation before I showed up here.

[When she's done draining, he'll follow suit.] I don't envy my sister though. The war isn't over from when she's from.

She'll get there though. At least the outcome is definite.

What about Hughes, Ed and Al? Are they from your future or past?

Mr. Hughes... well he has to be from the past. Ed, I think, is from a little bit in the future. And Al... he's from a different world. It's complicated.

[Has to be from the past. And a different world? Well that's just confusing. He resists the urge to use his sword... and settles on that knife from before.]

No, he didn't say much of anything about it.

Must be a boring future. [Aside from the whole bit about Pride, of course. Good times. Sokka proceeds to do the same with his dough. Possibly flattening his a little too much.]

Sokka, you're making it too thin. You don't want your filling to fall out the bottom when it's done.

Oh. Well maybe I like my pie like that! [Only not really, so he folds the dough back together and starts again.]
