Sokka the 76th - [Action/Voice]
It was an adjustment. He didn't much like that he was now single. He hated even more the circumstances that led to it. But after this long, Sokka owed it to himself to put himself back together and make some sense of his life. Or at the very least, try and be a little upright for the sake of his friends. After burying himself in work for the past few weeks, it was time for some sunshine. As sunny as it could be in January, anyway. So while he's out, he's not exactly chipper. But he's trying his best to not look as somber and cranky as he has the last few weeks.
Today, he's out with Foo Foo Cuddly Poops, the tiny Saber Toothed Moose-Lion cub he received for Christmas. The little beast is getting a bit bigger now. His little horns are protruding more and he was growing consistently. The little thing could fit on Sokka's head before, but not anymore. He was just shy of being the size of a beagle now. He'd already been bigger than Sokka remembered when he received him on Christmas. Having seen the mother, he knew Foo Foo would only get bigger. He also couldn't leave Foo Foo at home, since his teeth were coming in. Which meant he was chewing up anything he could get his paws on. Not to mention he was hardly housebroken. So this is why today, Sokka was going to the grocery to explore the diet of moose-lions so he could carry it all back in bulk. Which is why he also had an unseemly large bag. He suspected, before long, he'd have to start using a wheel barrow.
At the grocery store, the two explore a variety of foods they both like. Fruits and meat. It seems Foo Foo has a similar appetite to Sokka.
While he's off in one corner letting Foo Foo got to town on a basket of apples, he hits up the journals.
[Voice]
So. How exactly do you teach an animal not only to stop chewing on your valuables, but also to do their business outside? You know, without actually keeping them outside all the time. [A pause as he looks over at Foo Foo.] At least while they'll still fit in the house.
[action]
"Need help carrying all of that?"
[action]
"Well, now that you mention it, I could use a separate pair of arms. And since Winry says she can't just attach those anywhere, I'm willing to use yours."
[action]
"Okay." Making two trips was always annoying. This was easier.
[action]
"So... how's things been?"
[action]
Raven, the master conversationalist.
"I like having Hiccup back."
[action]
He hadn't really observed Raven's interactions with the others. They seemed pretty sparse.
[action]
Then again, he did make her laugh.
[action]
"And he has a neat dragon. Seriously, I wish I could get me a Toothless." Sokka stared down at Foo Foo. "Seriously, why couldn't I have got a dragon? Or some other cool and flying creature."
[action]
He was just...kind. A little unlucky, as Sokka once pointed out.
At 'cool flying creature' she looked him in the eye, as well as she could. What did he mean by that, then?
[action]
[action]
Raven kept her mouth shut for a little while as they walked. It got harder, the more she thought about Sokka and his feelings on flying things.
"They're...friends. Hiccup doesn't own him."
[action]
"Well I didn't think Hiccup owned all dragon. Especially not ones in other worlds."
[action]
In a funny way, they sort of owned each other.
"Why do you want a 'cool flying thing'?"
[action]
[action]
"What would you do in the mountains?" It wasn't like they could hunt for ore.
[action]
[action]
That's what the artist she knew did.
[action]
[action]
Something led her to turn her head away. "Sorry."
[action]
"You don't have to apologize."
[action]
"You sounded upset."
Someday - perhaps some near day - he wouldn't have to keep confirming for her that things were okay between them.

"You think so?"
