Sokka the 76th - [Action/Voice]

It was an adjustment. He didn't much like that he was now single. He hated even more the circumstances that led to it. But after this long, Sokka owed it to himself to put himself back together and make some sense of his life. Or at the very least, try and be a little upright for the sake of his friends. After burying himself in work for the past few weeks, it was time for some sunshine. As sunny as it could be in January, anyway. So while he's out, he's not exactly chipper. But he's trying his best to not look as somber and cranky as he has the last few weeks.

Today, he's out with Foo Foo Cuddly Poops, the tiny Saber Toothed Moose-Lion cub he received for Christmas. The little beast is getting a bit bigger now. His little horns are protruding more and he was growing consistently. The little thing could fit on Sokka's head before, but not anymore. He was just shy of being the size of a beagle now. He'd already been bigger than Sokka remembered when he received him on Christmas. Having seen the mother, he knew Foo Foo would only get bigger. He also couldn't leave Foo Foo at home, since his teeth were coming in. Which meant he was chewing up anything he could get his paws on. Not to mention he was hardly housebroken. So this is why today, Sokka was going to the grocery to explore the diet of moose-lions so he could carry it all back in bulk. Which is why he also had an unseemly large bag. He suspected, before long, he'd have to start using a wheel barrow.

At the grocery store, the two explore a variety of foods they both like. Fruits and meat. It seems Foo Foo has a similar appetite to Sokka.

While he's off in one corner letting Foo Foo got to town on a basket of apples, he hits up the journals.

[Voice]

So. How exactly do you teach an animal not only to stop chewing on your valuables, but also to do their business outside? You know, without actually keeping them outside all the time. [A pause as he looks over at Foo Foo.] At least while they'll still fit in the house.

My advice? Don't accept pets from the Malnosso.

Or Jack Sparrow. But mostly the first one.

When Pabu when through a chewing phase, Mako and I figured out giving him something he was allowed to chew on usually was a good plan. Though I don't think they really make chew toys for Saber Toothed Moose-Lions...

At the rate he's growing, he might start using Pabu as a chew toy.

[ There may or may not have been a chitter of horror from Pabu just then. He understood that Sokka. ]

Definitely find him a chew toy that doesn't resemble a beloved family member.

Hey, that's the plan. Once he's full grown, we'll all be chew toy sized to him.

[Which is kind of horrifying, really. At least Appa is a herbivore.]

[ Water tribe has the scariest pets... ]

Do you really think you'll be able to train him? People don't mess with Saber Toothed Moose-Lions even in my time, they're crazy strong.

[Sora totally knows about pets. He's had dream eaters before so he should know how to help.

When Sora's walking through the village that day he stops as he see's Sokka and...some strange animal thing beside him.]

Sokka, right? Who's that you got there?

[As he makes a gesture towards Foo Foo.]

Well what am I supposed to do? Eat him? I mean, sure, that was the original plan...

[But Aang would never allow that!]

[Ah. Does he introduce Foo Foo by his incredibly unmanly name? Or by something else?

What would Jack do?]

This is uh... Jawcruncher. The fierce.

[He...didn't look all that fierce to Sora.]

He seems more nice than fierce.

[He'll just get down on a knee and go to pet Foo foo.]

What is he exactly? Not any kind of animal I've seen.

[Foo Foo just sits there, staring up at the two of them looking fairly happy and blissful.]

Well. He hasn't grown into the fierceness yet. He's a saber-toothed moose-lion.

...You were going to eat him?

Yeah, I'm starting to believe water tribe is crazy.

Hey, when we get hungry, we get hungry. There's not exactly restaurants on every corner.

I guess I got pretty spoiled by Republic City, it was pretty easy to find a place to eat with so many available.

When we were traveling with Aang, we spent a lot of time between towns. Most of the time, it was up to me to scrounge together some food. Which is not easy when one of your friends doesn't eat meat, let me tell you.

[ Meanwhile Korra will probably eat anything that flies, swims or crawls... ]

Air Nomads really do have a strict diet, I remember how it was when we stayed on Air Temple Island.

It wasn't that bad, other than the food restrictions. It was definitely better than being homeless again.

[Foo Foo likes playing. He likes food more, but playing is good too. Sokka stands off a bit, torn between being okay with it and wanting to move on.]

The Malnosso sent him here for Christmas. I met him back home before, though. That was over three years ago. For me, anyway.

From the Malnosso, yeah. There's an old saying. Don't look a gift saber-toothed moose-lion in the mouth. Or else it'll bite.

[Or maybe he just made that up.]
