Sokka the 37th - [Written/Voice]

[Sokka's journal is writing out some strange stuff, none of it that Sokka wrote. Or at least, doesn't think he wrote. As he goes over it, he voices his comments at some of the really weird and cryptic messages it's giving him.]

Sokka Thunderaxe Bored today. Don't feel like working at the smithy today. Guess I'll check up on what I've missed.

Raine It just seems more like an annoyance than anything else. That really won't stop people from complaining.

Frashadower Fally-knees? [Okay, so he sucks at pronouncing written names. But there's only three names up there he doesn't recognize.] Does that mean we're friends now?

Buffy. [She corrects him with a sigh.] Buffy Summers. And apparently you like my--[she checks once again]--username. See, I didn't even know I had one of those. Whatever one of those is.

I have no idea what a username is either. Or what 'el oh el' means either. Maybe it's some kind of code.

[With a huff:] It means laugh out loud. Y'know--chatspeak. The language of the people who spend their Saturday nights on the web. Geeks. Well--that or the hip new generation with their cell phones and...wait.

[Her memory goes into overdrive.] Aren't you the guy that Sparrow was trying to set up with some kind of hair-brained damsel-in-distress scheme?

[Here;'s Sokka imagining people stuck in some kind of massive spider web. Laughing. And probably looking like Haruki, because he's the only guy he knows with a cell phone. It's a pretty weird mental image.] Oh. Of course.

Jack? Uh, yeah. There was that... thing. He was going to do. I think that kind of got sidetracked, maybe? It wasn't that big of a deal, really.

He was trying to cast me as the villain, and I think that was enough to sidetrack any ill-advised scheme. But...Jack'll be fine. Back to his regularly annoying brand of mischief in no time.

[A big old exhale.] So...experiment, right? That's my best guess.

Right. Right... because of the desert thing. I was going to look for him... but it seemed like Vash and the others had it under control.

Doctor McCoy and me have personally been overseeing his recovery. If you the two of you are friends, you should maybe go pay him a visit. I think--[hmm]--he could probably use some friendly faces. Helps with a speedy recovery and all.

Yeah... I guess I should do that. I don't think I've really talked to him since he came back. [And now he feels guilty. Thanks Buffy.]

It's more like a saying than an actual hat--just, be careful. He might be a little more insane than usual.

[She regrets bringing up Jack. What a sore point. So she side-steps into another subject:] If you're that guy, then that means that you also work at the place where all the fabulous weapons are made, right? Cooking up anything special for the upcoming draft?

[Oh, well... yeah, okay. Subject change.]

The smithy, yeah. But I don't have to worry about that. I figure once I get there, I'll probably just use their special... thing for ordering stuff. Maybe get me some high tech flamethrowers, bombs, a few lightning-shooting guns, kevlar body armor, and you know. That kind of stuff. Besides my sword and boomerang, of course. [In a way, it's scary what kids can learn by reading in the library.]

What, are you expecting to meet up with the Spanish Armada or something?

[Y-yeah. She doesn't even know what the Armada is. It just sounds intimidating.]

No. Are they supposed to be there too? [Maybe he should bring MORE stuff.]

Uhm? I'm thinking--no. But I guess there could be this place's equivalent. Like, the General. He might be there.

The General... I... heard something about him once? I really don't remember what was said.

He was head of the Third Party's invasion. He had a rocking bod, but a totally unhelpful attitude. His big plan was to kill us all to the extent of not coming back the next week.

Sounds like a real jerk. With the killing thing. Not the... bod. Part. Yeah.

I guess the whole coming back to life thing works on them too, huh?

Mmhm. That's the assumption. So I wouldn't be too surprised if he shows up on the field, once again in the flesh.

Do you think lightning guns would work on him?

I guess--I mean, an axe to the wings worked just fine. A lightning gun would probably be at least ten times more overkill.
