Sokka the 35th - [Action/Written]

[It had been an unusually quiet day at the Walton Avatar house. Last night they had all exchanged their good nights. This morning they had all had breakfast together. But when dinner came around, one of their number was conspicuously absent. Electing himself to go yell at their time-dislocated buddy to come and eat. He didn't suspect anything, after all. Roku's staff was sitting off in a corner from when he came in earlier. But when Sokka knocked on the door and received no answer, he proceeded to push the door open...

And saw a sight he had seen before. An empty room. Back to the way it was when they first moved in, save for the paint on the walls. With a sigh, Sokka steps aside so Katara can see. This... this isn't going to be easy.

Hours later, Sokka will leave a message on the journals about it, opting to stick with writing to make things easier.]

Hey everyone. It looks like Roku lucked out and went home. Since he didn't get a chance to say it himself, thanks to everyone who was there for his birthday and stuff. You don't have to worry about him, though. He's got a big important future and is going to live to be an old man with kids. He'll even have statues in his honor. So yeah. Still gonna miss him though.

It must have been fascinating to have someone from your world's history here, though.

... yeah, it kind of was. While he was here, anyway. He was from a hundred years before my time though.

It must have been strange. I can't imagine how I would feel, had I met a hero from the past like that. [He would count Sigmund, but... that's not public knowledge, so.]

Well, it was a little different. He hadn't really done anything yet.

That must have complicated things. Was he aware of what he would do?

We tried to tell him everything before someone else did.

'Someone else'? Were you worried?

[markofthewise]

[Well, it really doesn't matter now, does it?]

He uh. Kind of had relatives here. Azula was one of them.

That dangerous woman from your world?

[markofthewise]

Yeah. That one. He was her great grandfather. She could have tried to turn him against us.

[vermified]

That would certainly have complicated things. Though it's likely it wouldn't have changed his future.

[markofthewise]

Yeah. Even though we told him everything that happens, he won't remember it. SO nothing will change. [He actually sounds disappointed by this.]

[vermified]

Perhaps that's for the best. The ability to change the future seems too dangerous to toy with.

[markofthewise]

Yeah, I guess. Still. It would be nice if we could take the knowledge we have here with us, you know?

[vermified]

Maybe someday we'll be able to change that, as well. I'd much rather remember my time here.

[markofthewise]

Yeah. I've made too many friends here to forget them all. [He has his friends back home. But never this many friends. And never so many distinctively attractive girls his own age.]

I feel the same way. Often I'm grateful to have returned here with the same memories as before... I'm not sure how I'd have dealt with it, otherwise.

... yeah. I wonder what it would have been like if I had kept my memories of my last time here.

It does make things more convenient at times.

I keep thinking I did something really embarrassing last time and no one will tell me about it.

Pretty much. I'd just like to know about them. [Only he probably wouldn't. That time he was turned into a girl or the time he dated Vyse? Probably experiences best left forgotten.]

[Wouldn't we all? Edward makes a vaguely agreeable noise, then tries to get the subject away from embarrassing moments before the fail begins to spread.] Can you explain something about your world to me, or would it bother you?

Uh. Sure. What do you want to know about? [Sokka has a hunch. It's either Edward wondering about animals in Sokka's world... or bending. You know what? It's probably bending. Everyone always asks about that.]
