[It had been an unusually quiet day at the ~~Walton~~ Avatar house. Last night they had all exchanged their good nights. This morning they had all had breakfast together. But when dinner came around, one of their number was conspicuously absent. Electing himself to go yell at their time-dislocated buddy to come and eat. He didn't suspect anything, after all. Roku's staff was sitting off in a corner from when he came in earlier. But when Sokka knocked on the door and received no answer, he proceeded to push the door open...

And saw a sight he had seen before. An empty room. Back to the way it was when they first moved in, save for the paint on the walls. With a sigh, Sokka steps aside so Katara can see. This... this isn't going to be easy.

Hours later, Sokka will leave a message on the journals about it, opting to stick with writing to make things easier.]

Hey everyone. It looks like Roku lucked out and went home. Since he didn't get a chance to say it himself, thanks to everyone who was there for his birthday and stuff. You don't have to worry about him, though. He's got a big important future and is going to live to be an old man with kids. He'll even have statues in his honor. So yeah. ~~Still gonna miss him though.~~

Yeah, I guess. Still. It would be nice if we could take the knowledge we have here with us, you know?

Maybe someday we'll be able to change that, as well. I'd much rather remember my time here.

Yeah. I've made too many friends here to forget them all. [He has his friends back home. But never this many friends. And never so many distinctively attractive girls his own age.]

I feel the same way. Often I'm grateful to have returned here with the same memories as before... I'm not sure how I'd have dealt with it, otherwise.

... yeah. I wonder what it would have been like if I had kept my memories of my last time here.

It does make things more convenient at times.

I keep thinking I did something really embarrassing last time and no one will tell me about it.

[Wouldn't we all? Edward makes a vaguely agreeable noise, then tries to get the subject away from embarrassing moments before the fail begins to spread.] Can you explain something about your world to me, or would it bother you?

Uh. Sure. What do you want to know about? [Sokka has a hunch. It's either Edward wondering about animals in Sokka's world... or bending. You know what? It's probably bending. Everyone always asks about that.]

Let me guess. Bending?

I take it you're asked about it often?

What can I say? My sister likes showing off. It gets brought up a lot.

[Edward is too polite to say "I forgot you had a sister", so he refrains. :|]

I haven't actually seen it, myself. But it's been mentioned a few times.

Well, okay. There's four elements. Water, earth, fire, and air. In my world, you're either born a bender or you're not. I happen to be the not. Also, what you can bend depends on what nation you're from. Waterbenders come from the Water Tribe, Earthbenders from the Earth Kingdom, Firebenders from the Fire Nation, and Airbenders from the Air Nomads.

[...Huh.]

That... is surprisingly similar to my own world, though we have a fifth nation, and the kingdom associated with water no longer exists.

Well... the Air Nomads were wiped out in our world. So it's really just the three now.

Strange, isn't it? How the worlds can be so far apart yet have such similarities.

Maybe some things are just universal. Or maybe the Malnosso planned it that way!

...I hope they don't have that much control.

You never know. Anyway. Bending is kind of like magic. Only you control it through your movements. And that's pretty much it.

Perhaps someday I could see it for myself? I can't help but feel curious about it.

You'll have to ask Katara sometime. [Or Toph... they're the only two benders in Luceti now. Huh.] Or come around our house around evening. She's usually practicing around then.

I may do that, then. I have a delivery to make anyway.
