Sokka the 28th - [Voice]

[Sokka has been running around throughout this entire invasion of butterflies. Having finally caught a moments rest, he decides it's about time to organize things. There's not much time for complicated filters, so he makes this fast.]

[Filtered to the White Lotus 50%]

Alright, White Lotus. Heads up. Everyone should already know what's going on, by now. Someone has been killed already, so we need to step things up. Right now the town square seems to be the worst place right now. There's not a lot of us though, so we should concentrate our efforts on the southern part of the village for now. Those things are everywhere though, so be sure you have someone watching your back.

[Filtered to the Blue Rogues 50%]

This is Sokka, from the White Lotus. We're here to back you guys up. We'll take care of the southern part of the village with what we can. That should free you guys up to focus on the town square and the rest of the village.

[Filtered to Housemates and Friends 40%]

Everyone okay out there? I haven't had a chance to check on everyone left, so let me know if you need me somewhere.

['Getting good at?' Damn it, Sokka!] Are you hurt?

[She is so tired of healing you, man.]

I've been bitten a few times. They're bandaged though. [And he'll let you handle them when there's a chance to.]

[A mental 'grr' is being sent in your direction.] OK. I'll be there soon.

[Oh Katara. He's only going to be in worse shape come tonight.]

Okay. I'll be here.

[It's actually probably closer to forty minutes later that Katara finds her way to Sokka. This is after taking care of the remains of one of the victims, and she needed a few minutes to get herself together. She does eventually start running to get there in time, so whatever palor he might have noticed is long gone. She's noticeably uninjured.

Where does she find her brother?]

[Sokka is the John McClane of action scenes. His hair is a mess and barely tied up at this point. He's got a bandage on different spots on both arms and one on his leg. There's blood smeared on his forehead, but that's only a result of his other injuries and the rain not yet washing it away.

More to the point, he's in front of building five, armed with a flamethrower, dispatching several of those flying buggers at once.]

...[Well, seeing Sokka pretend to be a firebender wasn't half as funny as she thought it would be. And - what the hell? Why were there so many Teases here? No wonder she hadn't been bothered on the way to the building. But sensing her presence, a group of them breaks away from Sokka and heads towards her. She's fought them plenty of times today to know their speed and so first has got to yell:]

You grabbed a firemaker and not your armor?

[He stops incinerating them long enough so he can be yelled at.]

Well I'm on a tight schedule here. [Once he finishes up here, he has to meet up with Nami. And then Naoki... and then... wait, did he have anything after that?]

[She is not going to argue with you right now, because those Teases are getting too close, and she said she wouldn't let them hurt her. And. She's pissed off that her brother got so hurt.

So. Just like before, she freezes the rain already on the Teases, and they drop out of the sky. Taking out her knife, she begins to make short work of them.]

You look horrible.

[Sokka stops as he sees all the Teases simply fall out of the sky. And just kind of frowns at that. Oh sure, the rain helps her. It's only been nothing but a pain for him all day. Cheater.]

Well we can't all make butterflies freeze in mid-air.

I bet if you'd decided to wear armor, you wouldn't be nearly this bad. [One of the Teases attempts to flutter up despite its weighed down wings. It bares its nasty teeth at her. Katara cuts off its head.]

[Sokka spots one of those frozen teases nearby trying to free itself. Sokka will go ahead and stomp it. Might as well help.]

As a matter of fact, all of these cuts are from before I got to the house. So it wouldn't have made a difference. [Even so, he's liking this armor idea.]

All of them? [What the hell have you been doing?] What happened?

[Look. She squishes another one.]

[Well... since they have time. He'll just go about crushing the teases as he talks.]

Well this morning, Jack and I discussed our uh, plan. For something. Then while I was on my way to work, one of those things bit me. It was only afterward I found out what they were. After I got to the smithy, I heard Mayoi was in trouble, so I ran off to help her. I managed to get bit once or twice while fighting them off with Alexei. [Conveniently leaving out the part where he blew the fuse in Mayoi's house. BREEEATHE.] After that, I conferred on the journals and found out some more of what was going on and went to go meet Brook at the plaza. While fighting more of those things off with him [spotted a corpse] saw San was in trouble, so I went to help her. We raided the smithy, I grabbed my other flamethrower and I used that until it ran out. Once things were settled over there, I started back to the house. I stopped in building five long enough to make that filter you responded to before. I then met up with Longshot and I took him down into our cellar to grab some more weapons and my flamethrower. Hugo and Roku showed up at right after that and we cleared up most of the butterfly things around the house. After that I agreed to meet up with Nami and then Naoki after things were settled. And then you showed up, yelled at me for my lack of armor, and proceeded to freeze all the teases. [Breeeeeeath.]

And that's pretty much it. Did I miss lunch?

[...seriously, what the heck, Sokka!]

[Mayoi she doesn't know. Alexei... and San... and if he was with Brook then he saw...]

[At least everyone he was with sounds like they're going to be fine.]

Well. Sounds like you've had a busy day. Sorry, I didn't get the chance to make dinner.

Yeah. Just a little. [Cruuunch. There goes another one.] I think we'll have to settle for leftovers tonight. [Because no one is going be in the mood for cooking tonight.] So what have you been doing?

Oh, you know [shrug], the usual. [Pause.] I didn't see you in the square when I was with Brook. We must have just missed each other.

Oh. [Oh... so that means she saw-] Well San's not an easy girl to keep up with. [He kind of lost track of her. Oops.]

Yes, she is.

[Squish. And that should be the last of them. She frowns, looking down at them.] The hardest thing about killing these is their flight pattern. They still act just like bugs, or animals, even if they're not natural.

[She very determinedly doesn't look at him, scanning around to see if she'd missed any in her search-and-squish mission.] But if someone made them...

[Sokka nods at that. It has been hard to kill them by using a weapon. A year ago, he wouldn't have had a chance.]

That guy on the journals... he said they weren't living creatures. And I don't think they're from the Malnosso either.

[She nods.] Allen.

[She's figured out more than that and she's not sure what else she wants to share. Allen's a friend. And... she has questions for him.]
