[With the day nearing its end, Sokka is finally ready to go public with the occupation he's been working on all week. So now he steps into the village square. Two metal tanks are strapped to his back, both filled with 'fuel'. Connected to each one of them is multiple-jointed metal piping used to house and protect a hose, both which connect to two specially designed nozzles on his hand. How are they activated? A lever for each hand, that when he pulls it, releases the liquid from the tanks in a stream as well as lighting a spark to ignite it.

So what is he doing? Why, he's showing off his fancy Firebending moves with varieties of "HYAH!" and "HWUH!" and so forth while he uses his dual flamethrowers to show off how awesome he is. This is potentially the most dangerous and stupid thing he's ever done. Hopefully he won't blow himself up, even though he's clearly put a lot of work into his newest invention.

What's a fire bender?

A jerk who bends fire! [No wait, Firebenders aren't jerks. He's a firebender.]

I mean, a person who controls the element of fire and can control it with with own motions. Like so! [He fires out a blast at an innocent lump of snow.]

But, aren't you controlling it with your tank? Never mind. I take it you've given up blacksmithing.

Blacksmithing was cool and all, but I just don't see it as really being me. I'll probably keep working there, but I'll be spending more time focusing on mastering the bending arts.

I know better than to try and dissuade you. Do you have anyone who can teach you?

Like I need a teacher. How can teach perfection?

What about a suitably awed bystander who can heal?

I suppose you can stick around, just in case someone happens to get too close to my mighty flames.

Hey, hey, who said I had healing powers? But, I guess the clinic isn't too far, if anything happens. The middle of the square is a great place to show off your newfound prowess.

I know! I thought about doing it somewhere else, but this is the best place for everyone to get a chance to see me in action!

Maybe you should rope an area off. Like a stage. I probably have some string on me, it shouldn't be too hard.

Except I might set the rope on fire. Which while impressive, would certainly make it cease to be a stage.

The idea is, you avoid lighting up the rope with your skill and finesse. Or by standing far enough away from it that you have a clear space.

Well I suppose you could set that up while I'm doing my thing.

It's okay. I'm pretty good with gruntwork.

[And he'll start setting this up. In addition to some twine, Nash seems to have an infinite amount of spikes up his sleeves somewhere. (Hey, it's canon...) It's pretty straightforward, planting them into the snow.]

This week has definitely been interesting. People commit themselves to their occupations so thoroughly, it's always been something I've had trouble understanding.

Maybe you're just too old to understand, but once you find something you like and are good at, you have to keep up with it.

What if I'm good at a lot of things I like doing?

Then you'll never have time to do anything.

Except get old! Slowly!

Well, what do firebenders usually fight? Or is it a stand around and look impressive occupation?
