When Sokka woke up in the smithy, he was, to say the least, concerned. He had apparently died and gone to weapon heaven. And then of course, there was some horrible saber-toothed moose lion on the floor next to him. Feeling rather panicked, Sokka scooped up his boomerang (and the awesome looking sword next to it) and snuck out of the smithy without waking it up. Upon examining the boomerang, he noted it was strange how it had a few extra notches and scratches to it, like it had seen some rough times. That worried him.

The town proved even more mind blowing. It was huge. Buildings raising up beyond what he could imagine and there were so many people and houses. And not a single inch of snow. In fact, he felt rather hot and he immediately had to shed his parka. He felt lost and confused and was worried about where the rest of his tribe was. Where was Katara? Or Gran-Gran? He needed to find them. And thus he began to explore town, from one shop and house to another. Sneakily.

At some point, Momo comes landing on his shoulder. A nice lemur. A nice delicious lemur. Sokka easily catches it (since it doesn't resist).

"Mmm. Hello meat. You're just in time for lunch!"

And so with lemur in tow, Sokka made a short stop in the woods, making ready to start a fire and cook a lemur. It would be wise to stop him. Otherwise, he'll be searching the town for people from his tribe and you know, a reason for why he has wings now.

[He rolls his eyes and quickens his pace.]

[And... quickening his pace to match.]

Nuh-uh! I'm not gonna let you eat this poor guy! There's plenty of other things you can eat instead.

Like what? [Sokka looks at... a RABBIT.] That thing?

[It's some freak of nature. How can he be expected to eat an ungodly horror like that?]

No! Not that eith-

[He blinks and looks at the rabbit.] What is that animal?

It's weird, that's what it is. And I'd rather eat this. [He lifts up Momo again.]

But he doesn't want to be eaten! Isn't that right, little guy?

[He whistles, just to see how the lemur will respond.]

[Momo stares blankly at Aang, because all he hears is WAH WAH WAH WAH. Then he looks at Sokka. And then at absolutely nothing six inches to the right of Sokka's head.]

I eat a lot of things that don't want to be eaten. It's called survival.

No, that's called being mean! I've seen plenty of trees and plants around here with fruits and berries, so you don't need that lemur to survive!

[Sure, that stuff is here... not home. And he feels no remorse about meat.]

That you should let him go and find something else to eat!

Sorry, little buddy. But this is the only normal animal I've found to eat so far. I found it first. And I gotta get back to my tribe, so I need my strength to do that.

No way! There's a whole town over there - why don't we look around there first? The house I woke up in had plenty of food around, too! Some of it was just in an ice-box. What kind of tribe are you from, anyway?

Southern Water Tribe. And we don't just steal food out of people's houses. Contrary to what the Fire Nation thinks, we're not just barbarians.

I always wanted to go there! And... it wouldn't be stealing. If we find people, I'm sure we can work something out! Come on. Just look in that little guy's eyes.

[Sokka looks at Momo's eyes and considers.]

Hmm... they'd probably be better in a stew.

No! You- you don't even have anything to make a stew with.

This conversation is just going in circles. Let's agree to disagree.

No! Let's agree to let him live!

[And so Aang kind of... airbends at Sokka. To try to knock him over and/or let Momo escape from his grip.]

But--- gaah!

[And Sokka falls over. Momo is freed from his grips!!! And then just sits on his chest instead. Apparently Momo is in no hurry to be freed.]

What was that!?

[Momo merely chirps at Sokka, then decides to do the only thing you do with people that are on their backs. Look for food in their pockets.]

Airbending! [Oh well, as long as he's a step away from being eaten, Aang's content for now. He does lean over Sokka to try petting at the lemur a little.]

Hands off my dinner! [SNATCHING the lemur back before there can be ANY head patting.] There's no such thing as airbending. All of them died a hundred years ago.

[He frowns.]

No. That's a lie! We're all alive and healthy in the air temples!

Yeah, well, that's not what my Gran-Gran said.
