Sokka the 78th - [Action/Written]
[After ditching Ed in the tunnels, Sokka has had some thinking to do. He's lost Suki and now he's lost Edward. His relationship with other people has seemed strained too. When it comes down to it, he doesn't particularly feel bad about this, but he is worried about ending up alone. Being alone is bad. But then, so is the life he had before. Well, if the journals are good for one thing, it's for sorting out dilemmas without giving yourself away. So he heads to the journal, disguises his handwriting, and asks:]
[Written (Disguised)]
If you were changed in a way that made you happier, but pushed other people away, would it be worth staying that way? I mean, it's not worth it to make yourself miserable just for the sake of other people, right? That'd be ridiculous.
[Yeah. Totally ridiculous. That was stupid of him to even ask. He stares at the page, shakes his head, and pushes it away. Later he'll reply to it, but for now, he decides to do work instead of wallowing in pointless contemplation.
For people who might want Sokka in person, he's up to his usual routine.]

[The last bit comes as he recalls, belatedly, that Luceti isn't home.]
[action]
I haven't been to the watch stations.
[And it's a better choice, she thinks, than either of their houses. Not when they both have roommates. Roommates that could just as easily disrupt kissing as co-workers in a smithy.]
[action]
Really? I figured you being the hunter, you'd use them all the time. I know I do.
[action]
I prefer being on the ground. I never had the advantage of height back in District 12. Unless you counted the trees. [She shrugged a little.] But I've always had the advantage on foot. I like it that way.
[action]
Well, we could roll around on the ground instead, since you seem to like it so much.
[action]
She still hates it. Hates how much she misses him. How much she let that love, that grief, still affect her.
And so she stops walking and lets go of his hand to place both of hers on either side of his face. She strokes one cheek briefly before tilting her head for a kiss. She wants to forget. She wants to forget so very much.]
[action]
So- that's a- yes?
[action]
Tentatively, she lets one hand fall from his cheek to stroke his neck, continuing to kiss him despite his question. Touching. Touching was a part of this, wasn't it? A fun part of it for that matter. So her hand continues to move from neck to rest on his shoulder.]
...it's not a no.
[The words are snuck in between kisses. Just in case he couldn't figure it out.]
[action]
[action]
Oh.]
Oh. [She pulls away just enough to smile bashfully at him. Embarrassed and a little bit flustered. But this is a part of it, isn't it? All a part of the kissing and touching and making out?] Might help to take off my jacket, first.
[action]
[Well, that wasn't a no. He returned a pleased smile as his hands instead moved to her jacket instead, peeling it away. He was trying to keep himself reeled in, but he was desperate to make this happen. Oh, sure, his hormones were in full gear. After all, it had been nearly a year since he'd got anything. He'd stupidly stopped himself from getting anywhere on Valentine's due to that pointless loyalty to Suki.
But he really was hoping this would satisfy that carnal desire inside him born of that emptiness clawing at his heart and mind.
When her jacket was free, he let it fall to the side.]
[action]
It's enough to make her have second thoughts about the direction this whole kissing thing was leading. To tempt her to pull away and pretend this never happened. Because Sokka isn't Peeta. And for all he might be willing to kiss her, she doubts he'd ever find her beautiful.
But distractions also work. And so, as she leans in for another kiss, her hand also reaches past his shoulder to gently brush fingers against the arch of one wing.]
[action]
Kinda makes the wings nice, don't it?
[There were few other areas so sensitive as their own wings. It was a curse. But sometimes also a blessing.]
[action]
It does. [The words came out almost breathless as she opened her eyes to smile at him. Her fingers began to trace a path downward along his soft feathers in light, teasing caresses.] You can... you can touch me other places, too. If you want.
[action]
[He gives her a quick and brief kiss before he trails his fingers down to the bottom of her shirt again. He was ready to skip the slow foreplay and go right for the main event. So when he was pulling the shirt off, he was quick to the point of not being forceful.]
[action]
As soon as her shirt landed on the ground, she reached out for the hem of Sokka's with that same sense of urgency he possessed.]
[action]
Oh yes, there were scars. But he had his own scars that were hidden. Some accidental and stupid, others more serious and worrisome. But they were markers that proved that he had been through those things, etched forever in his flesh. It made him real. Alive. He saw hers the same way he saw his.]
[action]
Her eyes roamed the newly exposed flesh curiously, even a little unabashedly. He really, really wasn't bad looking. Why hadn't she noticed that before? Lips curved in a pleased little smile before she reached out to place her palms flat on his abdomen. She stepped closer to capture his lips in another kiss, pleased by how, well, excited this made her. How alive. Her hands began to roam in earnest, determined to touch every bit she could find.]
[action]
But it made for one badass scar now, so he didn't mind. All the trauma that had once came with it didn't seem to affect him as much anymore.
This still wasn't good enough, though.
So whatever else she was wearing under that shirt, he was going to remove that next. In the meantime, his lips escaped from hers and found other flesh to visit. Her cheek, then her ear, followed by her neck and shoulder.]
[action]
Her fingers stilled against the jagged scar on his side and she moaned in pleasure, head rolling to the side to provide him better access. It made her hungry for more. For much, much more. A hunger that she hadn't felt since Peeta had left. One she had thought herself incapable of feeling ever again. And she wanted more, wanted that satisfaction that came from being intimate with another person.
Without thinking, her hands moved downward to tug at the waist of his pants. She needed this. Needed to not feel so alone for a little while longer. But she wasn't about to be entirely stupid.] Do you have a condom?
[action]
But he had not quite settled into his role as a womanizer long enough to actually think about keeping condoms on him. He did, at least, know what they are. He had a certain samurai to thank for that.
He unlatched her bra and pulled it aside and was very near to getting to do something about that. But now things were awkward.]
Can't you just drink that tea stuff?
[action]
This wasn't something she had heard of before. Even if she hadn't paid all that attention - okay, none at all - to that mandatory sexual education class all thirteen year olds in the Districts were forced to attend, she had thought she had learned enough. But this was not something she had heard of. Nor, really, did she appreciate this break in the mood.]
Tea stuff?
[action]
Tea stuff. [He paused as he realized more context was needed.] From the clinic. For, you know, after. Or is it before? I never really asked.
[action]
No one told me. [Damn it. Cato had made that whole horrible post in the journal about her and Peeta and no one bothered telling them about this option?] About the tea stuff. I like it though. It sounds easy. A lot easier than, well, condoms.
[action]
[What with them being both completely topless here. And frankly, Sokka was ready to get back to that. After all, it was kind of hard to have a conversation of any type of seriousness when you were distracted by breasts.]
