Sokka the 78th - [Action/Written]
[After ditching Ed in the tunnels, Sokka has had some thinking to do. He's lost Suki and now he's lost Edward. His relationship with other people has seemed strained too. When it comes down to it, he doesn't particularly feel bad about this, but he is worried about ending up alone. Being alone is bad. But then, so is the life he had before. Well, if the journals are good for one thing, it's for sorting out dilemmas without giving yourself away. So he heads to the journal, disguises his handwriting, and asks:]
[Written (Disguised)]
If you were changed in a way that made you happier, but pushed other people away, would it be worth staying that way? I mean, it's not worth it to make yourself miserable just for the sake of other people, right? That'd be ridiculous.
[Yeah. Totally ridiculous. That was stupid of him to even ask. He stares at the page, shakes his head, and pushes it away. Later he'll reply to it, but for now, he decides to do work instead of wallowing in pointless contemplation.
For people who might want Sokka in person, he's up to his usual routine.]

Yeah. They'd definitely have to do this again.
His joke got a surprised little laugh as she glanced down to the part of him that he had just referred to and blushed. Yeah, he had just... They had just... And she didn't feel horrible, didn't feel fast. If anything, she felt great.]
Actually make it to the observation tower? [She chuckled again and nodded.] Maybe when we hunt or fish, we could meet there. Or, uh, just meet there anyway.
[action]
[He felt no shame. He wasn't sure if he could, but when he heard some movement in the grass, he became aware that it might be a good idea to get dressed. Even if it did turn out to be just a squirrel scrambling up a tree. He relaxes when he realizes they're not being watched, but it does prompt him to go looking for his pants.]
Plus, next time I won't have to do all the heavy lifting. I mean, not that you're heavy. You've quite light! I just mean, you know, a more horizontal position might be attempted next time.
[action]
As she dressed, she listened to him continue to speak. To backpedal in a way that made her laugh again.]
There are, um, other positions too. I read a book once, back when- [When Peeta had been here. When she had been so, so determined to please him, to make him as happy as he made her. She had no idea then that the information in the book might actually come in handy all these months later.] There's a lot you can do. More than I ever thought there was.
[action]
Really? Maybe we should find this book. You know, for science. And discovery. Exploration. That kind of thing.
[Certainly they owed it to themselves to explore all possibilities.]
[action]
Just in case she ever needed to reference it.
Hopefully, it was still there. Hopefully, Effie hadn't yet found it.]
I usually don't like science. [It was mostly beyond her, better left for people like Beetee. She looked over at him and flashed him a teasing smile.] In this case though? I can make an exception.
[action]
[He tried very hard to look and sound cool as he said that, but it was somewhat ruined by him falling over as he pulled on his pants.]
Ow.
[action]
Very smooth. [Extremely, really.] Hopefully your scientific method isn't this rough.
[action]
The scientific method is all about trial and error. It can be very rigorous.
[action]
I'm good with rigorous.
[action]
I thought you might. I'll make a scientist out of you yet.
[action]
Deal.
[action]
Then how about tomorrow. We'll meet here? And hopefully make it there next time.
[action]
Laughing, she nodded in agreement. Tomorrow sounded great.] I'll see if I can find the book, too.
[action]
[He gives her an affectionate wave as he turns to head home, already thinking heavily about what the next day would bring.
Today, life was good.]
