Sokka the 71st - [Action/Voice]

[Today, Sokka starts out with some simple messages for the journal.]

I know this is pretty late, but... Luceti has a way of causing delays. I got a lot of orders two months ago and they're all finally finished. If you haven't already picked them up, then... well, you should do that. I think you'll be pleased. [ooc: if you want to assume they already picked this stuff up a while ago, that's fine too!]

So, now that it's nice and warm these days, how do people feel about... fishing? I just made my own fishing rod, so I'm thinking tomorrow morning? Fishing time. On the river, maybe. Or I could bring out one of the boats and head to the lake. Some company wouldn't hurt. As long as you're not the noisy kind. I uh, actually want to catch some fish.

20th

[For today, Sokka works his regular shift at the smithy. From morning until the afternoon, he's at the smithy. There's not much to do now that he's done, so he straightens things out, hangs out on the couch with an alchemy book in his face, or if he gets bored with that... he reaches for his fishing rod under the couch and does a few practice casts. If he thinks no one will catch him doing it. Winry wouldn't approve. 8|

In the afternoon, he'll be around House 56 in the front and back yard, with a can of dirt and pushing over rocks and stones looking for worms underneath. A good fisherman needs his bait, after all! And he wants to be ready for tomorrow!]

21st

[As soon as his sparring practice is over, Sokka sets himself up on the southernmost bridge in town. Sure, it's a little gloomy today, but still time to fish. He has a chair, he has a fishing line, he has a cold box to put fish in, and he has not shortage of snacks and drinks. About ten minutes into his fishing, he gets drenched. Watch as poor Sokka has to gather up his stuff and flee back home. Later when he has an umbrella, he dejectedly heads to the smithy to put in a few hours. And then a few more hours later at the library to do alchemy research. No fishing today. :(]

22nd

[After a rainy day and rainy night, Sokka wakes up to A BIG BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW. He'll try to rush through his morning training, that way he can head to the river west of his house and ready a canoe. With a clear sky above, he's going out to the lake for fishing. There's room enough for two, for anyone eager to join. Following that, he'll be out on the southern lake fishing, cooking fish on the shore for lunch, and enjoying a good solid day off. STRESS FREE.]

Well you still feel pain. I've known lots of people who died before coming here. They weren't dead here. They just kept living. And they were able to die again too. You shouldn't be too quick to assume that what works on your world will work here too.

Little cuts and stuff heal still. There are a lot of people who died before going here, but not a lot of people who spent quite some time in an afterlife that had slightly different rules. I know I can't go getting my head cut off without any issue here, that's why I've been careful. Everyone here can get hurt. There's a lot more to worry about and there's a lot more at stake. I'm not completely stupid, you know.

You say that because you haven't been drafted. Once you're out there, getting hurt is a pretty serious concern. As is dying. Injury, definitely a thing out there. As is blood. And general violence.

I've fought before. I know what it feels like and I know what to avoid. Whether it was in the same situation, I could still get taken out in a fight if the person was stronger than me. It's not like I don't know what it's like to really have someone's life at stake.

[ She looks over at him. Mildly annoyed, mildly amused at the same time. ]

Do you think I'm some kind of delusional person who thinks I'm invincible?

[He doesn't look back over, still focused on the water.]

Well I figure if you can't even get decent information on the Malnosso, you probably don't know a thing about the Third Party either. [There's a hint of a smirk there.]

Oh? Are you telling me your information on the Malnosso is sucky? Maybe I should stop hanging out with you.

Sure. I bet there's people lining up to be your information guy.

So you're my information guy then~?

I prefer to think of myself as freelance, available for anyone unable to keep track of information themselves.

Well then don't complain about my sources being good or not if you're a primary one.

Hey, if you want the information, the complaining comes with it. I happen to be good at it.

Complaining doesn't scare the fish away? [ Since you're supposed to be quiet when you fish. Not that the SSS ever was when they went fishing.. ]

As a matter of fact, fish are especially attracted to general unhappiness and squirming. It's why worms work so well.

[ Oh Sokka. Sokka. Be careful what you say. There is a smirk on her lips now and she's scooting closer. ]

So if I really wanted to catch a big fish, I could just throw you in?

[ Ah, such a sweet sing-song voice when she says that.. ]

[TOTALLY NOT FALLING FOR IT. He just gives her a look.]

They like sour personalities more. It's why I decided to let you come.

[Maybe he'll just push HER in.]

They like live bait more, don't they?

[ These two are going to end up soaked. Goes to gently pat him on the back.

And harder to try to push him off THIS IS THE SAFEST. ]

[He goes forward, but catches himself on the railing. IT IS ON.]

Maybe, but fake bait works pretty good too.

[So he does the same BACK.]

I'm pretty sure they like the stinkier stuff better!

[ TRYING TO SHOVE NOW. She puts her foot against the railing to push herself back. ]

Then you should be throwing yourself in!

[He nearly goes in this time, so he grabs HER arm to steady himself.]

I smell good, thanks!

[ TRYING TO SHAKE HIM OFF. AND THEN HER FOOT SLIPS OFF THE RAIL. ]

Whoa--! [He didn't mean for her to actually fall in, so he tries to grab her hand to keep her on the bridge, but he was already barely staying on the bridge and he slips after her.]

IDIOT!

[ Yuri let's out a yell as they both fall. BIG SPLASHING EVERYWHERE! ]

[Splish.

Sokka emerges from the river, soaked and unamused. He glares at Yuri.]

Happy now?

I don't know, is there a fish biting you?

[ Yuri's getting up too, straightening her headband. The rest of the stuff isn't as important as her hair, but in a moment, she starts trying to straighten her skirt, then pull at her shirt to try to get it straighter and how the hell is she going to get through town why is this uniform shirt white? Goddamnit. Yuri crosses her arms, pouting. It only lasts for a moment though and she starts laughing. Not maniacally or anything, just.. happily. ]

[This is why blue is great. Sokka sits on the grass next to the river, taking off his boots so he can drain the water from them. Yuri's white shirted predicament does not go unnoticed, but he doesn't stare or comment.]
