Sokka the 62nd - [Voice/Action]
{So Sokka is in a dilemma. Here he is, his usual lunch spot sitting on the stony edge of the fountain, eating his sandwich, when it occurs to him that he's had a ham-and-turkey--and-roast-beef-with-cheese-and-jalapeno sandwich for three week consecutively. And that's only because three weeks ago Hawky flew away with his sandwich before he could eat it. As he realizes he has little to no desire to finish this half eaten sandwich, he realizes his life needs a CHANGE. Something different. Exciting. A way to make his mundane existence in Luceti worthwhile again. Naturally he turns to the journals.]
Okay, so, I'm sick of eating the same old stuff for lunch. Sandwiches are great, really, but I've been eating them for a year now. I think I need more variety in my lunches. Any ideas? It can't be... complicated or anything. Believe it or not, cooking is not exactly my thing. So, anyone got any ideas that don't include visiting Seventh Heaven every day? Or the other restaurants, either. No offense to them, but... I dunno. No offense, either way.
{Unless it's for something special, Sokka just doesn't buy into making people work for him without recompensation.
He chews on his sandwich a bit more, then decides to add:]
Anybody like fishing? I mean... maybe not so much the net fishing. Just line fishing. Or spear fishing, I'm good with that too. It's actually been awhile since I caught my own dinner, now that I think about it.
[For you action folks, catch Sokka at his usual haunts. The smithy, around House 56, around the plaza, or beside the barracks, working on the lumber Moro provided into usable material for his boat. LOUD POWER TOOL SOUNDS, RAR HAR HAR.]

[When Leon does make it, Sokka is taking it pretty easy today. He's got his stuff to work on already sitting out, so he's just on the couch, drinking a soda and staring at the ceiling.]
[action]
Let me guess. Really slow day?
[action]
Hey, it's not like I get paid to do this stuff. I'm allowed to relax.
[action]
[action]
[Don't mind him as he sits up a bit to peer at that sack.]
[action]
So here's what I've got. Was there a particular element you wanted to aim for in a weapon?
[action]
[He considers one of the swords he has sitting out and stands up to inspect it.]
What would a water element do?
[action]
[action]
[It would be very Water Tribe and a good place to start.]
Maybe we should try that first.
[action]
[He pauses. That probably sounds weird.] If everything goes well, it won't ruin its structural integrity. That's part of the reason there's a chance of failure.
[action] /so... how much of this we wanna thread out, or shall we timeskip?
Guess we'll get started then.
[action] timeskipping from here works!
[He flexes his fingers together, heading towards Sokka's work area. This'll be an experience.]
[action]
Alright, let's get started.
[TINK TINK TINK, CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. Weapon upgrade!]
[action]
Seems good. The water crest took.
[action]
[He takes the blade and after looking at the length of the blade, turns to give it a few experimental jabs into open air.]
So how do we test to see if it works?
[action]
[action]
[Taking the sword, he'll just lead Leon on back there. He takes the sword in hand and then gives the dummy a good whack, embedding the blade into the wood just a bit. Fortunately it's not so sharp that it has Cut-Anything physics applied.]
Well? [He's trying to pull the sword out, so he can't see the results just yet.]
[action]
There. Can you see that?
[action]
[He pulls the rest of the sword out and presses a finger to the frost. It is, indeed, cold.]
You know, maybe a better application than giving people frostbite when you stab them, we could embed these in tin cups. Your drink would never get cold!
[action]
You should also get a similar effect if you hit something with the flat of the blade, so you an see how this would apply with other kinds of weapons.
[action]
It's neat, definitely. And while it is technically fitting given my background, I'm not convinced it's all that practical for a sword.
[He considers the sword a bit... hmmm.]
A club or hammer, maybe. One hit to freeze something, a second one to shatter it.
[action]
But you can see what I was getting at. There's a lot of ways to improve weapons around here.
[action]
You're right. This could be really big. It's more work, but definitely worth it.
