Sokka the 61st - [Action/Voice]

[When Sokka opens the journal, he does it with a very specific purpose and yeah, maybe it's New Feather season and the aftermath of some dumb experiment, but he has some news that he's been sitting on for awhile. News that only two or three people outside of the Avatar house are even aware of. So today, around lunch period at school, Sokka heads around the building, facing the playground, to make an announcement he'd been putting off for a bit. Not because he didn't want to make it, but it was hard to do it with people being all ragey with the Malnosso. Maybe a few days of New Feathers will have cooled them off?]

Hey everyone. So... this is actually a few weeks late, but uh, that experiment kind of got in the way and New Feathers showing up and... anyway. Forget all that.

If you guys happen to see Suki around town, say hi to her for me. After all, she's the future Missus Thunderaxe. [He allows that to sink in a bit.] Because, you know, we're engaged now. Just saying. Nice pretty necklace and everything. One of my best works, if I do say so myself.

[Yeah, yeah. He's feeling good about that, okay. Like, solid. Whatever that means. Anyway, he decided that tonight he is making dinner. That means he's going to the grocery and stocking up on steaks. He wants to make steak burgers, because he's heard about them (somewhere) and they sounded awesome. From Luceti he had decided he liked steak and he liked hamburgers, so a combination? Gotta be a winner. Nevermind that he's just getting regular old steaks and plans to just put those on a hamburger bun. He'll realize the bones are gonna be a problem later on.

He'll make his customary appearance at the smithy to help New Feathers with weapons. He'll also be around school during the appropriate times for that. In the evening, after his dinner fiasco, he'll be down by the river, on the southern end of town, making some modifications to see if he can't make it sea worthy. Like adding a sail. He's pretty unsatisfied with the results though. Looks like he may need to just make a new boat from scratch. Which necessitates another voice post in the evening. But only after excluding a certain pirate. No offense, Jack, but he wants his own boat.]

So... ship building. Anyone want to help make one? A big one. Not huge, just... sea worthy with a nice strong sail. And good for bringing in lots of fish, too. Any help would be good. Just materials would go a long way.

Well there's no reason why you can't take on a little something of my homeland.

... I don't think it works that way. Besides, I've never even heard of Sokiyoshi!

[Sob. Sokka you have no sense of adventure.]

I was combining the names...

[He does! Sometimes. On weekends.]Oh. Yeah, I get it. I guess our names don't combine as well, huh? [Sokki? Sukka? Sokkuki? It's a mess!]

Marriage is more than a name, at least.

Well, Sokka Sokiyoshi isn't bad, I guess. [No, it's awful! It's not intimidating at all! Maybe... Kurukoshi?]

Yeah, speaking of which... uh, it looks like Buffy is going to throw an engagement party for us. She really wanted one and I kind of said... to ask you? So, she'll probably be doing that. Asking you, I mean.

A party? That's really kind of her. [Oh dear, parties... she's still not great with that sort of thing, but OH WELL she'll deal. It's a celebration, so they need to celebrate.] Are you okay with it, then?

Sure! Why not? Maybe we'll get presents out of it or something. [Hey, what can he say? He likes stuff.]

Sokka, that's no reason to have a party! [Though presents are always nice.]

One of many reasons! And Buffy really has her heart set on it. Who am I to sya? [Even if she is older and shouldn't need this to make her feel better. Oh well.]

[HRM, SOKKA. HRMMMM.] Well, I don't mind. I'm sure it'll be fun.

Of course! [Okay, now he has some things he needs to talk to her about.]

Hey, where are you right now? I kinda have some things I need to talk to you about. Not bad things! Just... you know, things.

Things? [Oh my, sounds serious.] I'm just at the bakery, but I'll be home soon. Do you want anything, by the way?

[Not that serious. Just the sort of things that might make her unhappy.]

Um... muffins? [What? He loves them.]

Muffins it is, then. I'll bring a few home. [Or at least a dozen. Sokka's quite the eater.] I'll be back in maybe half an hour.

Great. Good. I mean, yeah, no hurry. See you soon.

[Sure enough, within the hour Suki returns home with muffins! And some sweet pastries. And some red bean to fill them with. She's feeling self-indulgent today.

Either way she'll head for the kitchen first to drop them off, then if he's not there, wander around the house looking for him.]

[Nah Sokka is just hanging out on the couch. So when she walks in, he'll dutifully follow her into the kitchen, taking quick inventory of what she brought.]

Wow, you really emptied the bakery out, huh?

[She lifts a brow at him, giving his arm a little mock-punch.] I did not. We have a full house, you know! [Though she's taking her share of the pastries after dinner and devouring them.]

[He flinches instinctively and frowns.]

Only if they're still around by dinner time.

[What is this flinching. Someone needs more training.]

You think they won't be home?
