Sokka the 60th - [Action/Voice]

[Today? Sokka is at the smithy. Honestly, are we really surprised by this? Seriously, this is kind of his thing. He is waiting for Winry, though. He wants her input on a project.]

It's been two weeks since the equinox. And we're finally getting a break from all the rain. Funny how the new season just kind of Springs up on you like that, am I right?

[Oh Sokka, you are hi-lar-ious. He wipes a tear from his eye even, pleased that he managed to let such a well-seasoned joke be released into the wild. Oh, speaking of wild.]

No but seriously, now that it's getting that time of year, how many people out here hunt and fish? I know, I know. Boo hoo, the talking animals. I've heard it. But is there anyone here besides me who still does that kind of thing?

[Also, lately Sokka is keeping a new little trinket in one of his pockets. It's something he intends to give to someone at the right time. After the small blunder of forgetting to bring it on Suki's birthday, he's keeping it all the time on him now. So even as he's walking away from home, he'll often put his hand in his pocket to make sure it's still there. He probably won't show it to just anyone, though.]

Like what, they have lighter gravity on their worlds or... just stronger bodies?

Well I meant something more wide-reaching: Let's say, in their world, boobs ignore the laws of physics and stay supported where they logically should not. Like how some people here can jump in mid-air.

Come up with a better explanation for it. Gravity being different would effect their bone mass.

Hey, I'm not saying I have a better explanation. But you're making it sound like they're magical. Why would that ever happen?

Well, apart from the fact I'm sure there's some world in which breasts or breast milk produces superpowers, it could just be a side effect of [shounen. Eroge-] their world's functionality. You know like how some people happen to have everything fall in place and have a small group of people and/or one hero end a conflict which should never be able to be ended by one person because they happened to have some unique superpower which no one else has? It's that sort of thing.

I... wouldn't exactly say that the two examples are all that similar.

Of course they are, aren't you paying attention at all?! It's got less to do with physics, and more to do with themes! How about a world in which there are dozens of species or races or nations or whatever, but for some reason they all speak the same language. Yet, despite this, there is another species from long ago which spoke a different one for no apparent reason which in no way resembles the current universal one!

Or how in dozens of worlds there have been big world-ending things going on, but they are - for no apparent reason - centered around Japan, or even more specifically around Tokyo's area. Or how the major hero types usually use swords! Things like that!

... you've completely stopped making sense. I don't know that many people from your Japan and swords are a pretty common weapon. Especially if you don't have guns. Personally, I used to be a club kind of guy.

I do and swords being common is the point! What about how most of the magic healers are girls?!

I don't know. Maybe it's a cultural thing. In the Northern Tribe, women were forbidden to use waterbending to fight. Maybe it's like that in other worlds.

But it's weird to think about that being consistent to so many worlds, right?!

Not really. In most worlds it seems like men are always, no offense, bigger and stronger than women on average. I'm not saying it's right or anything, but that's just how it is.

It doesn't. It's stupid and just showy.
