Sokka the 59th - [Action/Written]

[Today a not-so-unfamiliar face returns to Luceti. He is by no means happy about being here, stuck as he in a pair of New Feather pants. His old stuff? Doesn't quite fit. After all, it was clothes for a seventeen year old, not a nine year old. Maybe this 'little kid' would be happier about this if not for the fact he wasn't a mere four foot six just a week ago. He wears the indignant face of someone not at all content about being so short. He is not a happy little kid.

After waking up behind one of the stores, he goes to the clothing store first to put something on, going to the oft-neglected kid's section of the store. As it turns out, there's not many little boys in Luceti. At least not his current age. Refusing to wear girl clothing, he opts for an oversized tunic and pair of shorts that he secures with a belt. It looks even more ridiculous than the alternative. After that, he'll be on his way to House 56. After letting his housemates know he is home (and finding out about a new arrival), he decides that a mallynapping isn't going to stop him, so he heads to the smithy later to try and get work done. He may drop in on school for at least one class today, because he's trying his best to pretend this is all normal.

At some point in the day he leaves a written message, cautious to keep away from the view screen.]

Sokka here. I'm back from another kidnapping. So if you need anything at the smithy or anything, let me know. I'll get it done.

[Back to camp... well, that's vague enough to know it was before Ember Island anyway. Maybe after Azula found them? Hm.]

Well.. if he isn't attacking us, I guess no harm done? [Even if it's weird to think Zuko has forgotten so much. At least he was kind of used to it with Toph.]

[You are crazy thick in the head sometimes, Sokka.]

[She assess him again.] And other than the obvious - are you okay?

[She assumed that he was, considering all that she can see of him. But it doesn't hurt to ask.]

[Maybe if she was clear about these things! As long as Zuko isn't trying to kill them, then all is well. He goes back to looking through the clothes.]

No, I'm not okay! I'm tiny and who knows how long they'll leave me like this. I can't even find anything that fits... it's all girly clothing!

[Just how many other times did she and Zuko 'return to camp,' huh?

Pfff.]

Just pick out something that fits you best for now. We can alter some of the others later. You won't be like this too long.

Yeah, yeah. Fine. I better not be, anyway.

[Okay this tunic is a bit big for him... but it's better than nothing. Maybe this pair of shorts? He just needs to find a belt.]

[Meanwhile, Katara starts making herself 'useful' and sorting through the discarded clothing to see what could be easily altered into more masculine wear.]

You don't mind wearing pink, right?

[Because this dress is totally alterable. She promises she will take off the frills and the rose stuck to it - but it's good sturdy material and about the right width.]

Yes! Yes I do mind! No pink. Do I look like Ty Lee?

[He grabs a belt and while it will do the trick, he immediately notices that when he wraps it around himself, it needs more holes. Since the Malnosso left him without anything, he glances over to his sister.]

Can I borrow your knife?

Look, your choices are pink, yellow, or purple - and I think this pink dress will be easiest to alter!

[And she hands over her knife without thinking twice. What, they were using knives under supervision at this age.]

None of the above! [A moment to notice the knife is bigger than he remembers it, before he starts making a new hold in the belt.]

If it's too much work, I'll alter the bigger stuff myself.

You? [She starts laughing.] You can't even sew a hole in your pants!

That's different! Besides, it doesn't need to look good, just not pink.

Oh man. [Still laughing] I should let you do it, too. I'd love to see it.

[Sadly, he has given her an idea. She starts to turn as if to go.]

Yeah, well I will.

[He's going to be stubborn about it now. He tests the belt around himself, but glances up when he sees her leaving.] Where are you going?

[Can you even see her over the top of the clothes racks, Short One? ...probably not.]

[He can too, if he gets on his tip toes!]

Fine, whatever. [He's trudging off to the changing room to put on what he has.]

[Meanwhile, Katara's in the men's section, looking at the smallest sizes possible.]

[He returns in a few minutes in his ridiculous oversized clothes, but they're staying on him. He discretely goes to look for footwear.]

[And she calls out without looking up.]

Any luck?

[Mom!instincts: she's got 'em.]

Meanwhile, she's gathered quite a pile in her arms.]

I might, but why wait? We're right here. I'm probably going to be spending the rest of the day sewing anyway...
