[This morning, the Sokka that wakes up is not the one he was before. However as he gets out of bed, he soon recognizes the room he's in. He remembered it from two years ago... how did he get back here? How was he going to get back? With a sigh, he turns to his journal.]

What's the month and cycle here?

[Best to find out how long he's been gone. He soon finds some clothes that aren't too small on him and gets dressed, heading out to see what's changed since he's been gone from Luceti. Already he knows something is wrong. If he was sent home and brought back, all this stuff shouldn't be here. Maybe some people from home are here. Or maybe... maybe his sister is still alive here. He swallows hard as he exits his room, going to explore the house.

Later in the day, he'll be roaming town, now educated about what exactly is going on. He isn't too happy about it, but he can at least catch up with some old friends before he's sent home.]

((ooc: Avatar Sokka again! From his perspective, he left for his own world in August and has been gone for two years. He has all of his memories from prior to AU, thought it may take awhile for him to remember some people. Anyone regular Sokka met after August is completely new to him. Also, replies will come from

Just about. The best part is totally when they melt and go all gooey. Don'tcha think?

[He blows on his hot chocolate, managing to bend the condensation in his own breath to be cold enough to make the hot chocolate a little more tolerable.]

I just wish they had these where I come from. No hot cocoa, not even the marshmallows. [And he takes a sip, even though you know, most people would wait for it to cool.]

That sounds seriously underprivileged, man.

[Heartened by his quick sipping, Buffy tries her own...and gets quite badly burned. She sets the mug suddenly back down and fans her slightly opened mouth. Owch.]

We have our ways of making up for it - here, let me.

[He leans over and does the same trick on her hot chocolate.] Try now?

[She looks up at him, uncertain. The mug and its contents did not look any different. She bites her bottom lip -- remembering the pain of the first sip but also finding that it was slowly slipping away. Slayer healing.]

You're sure? [But she doesn't wait for an answer. Lifting the mug again, she tilts it towards herself and sips and...ah!] It's just right!

[Self satisfied grin as he leans back. It wasn't often he got to use that one to impress girls. Always worth it, though.]

Happy to help. Will your tongue be alright? [Maybe he could use his waterbending healing... with his tongue.]

It's cool. I...recover pretty quickly. Call it a quirk. [She toys with the mug's handle, leaning on her other arm's elbow.] Was that a spell, or...?

Quirks? Quirks are good. [He turns in his seat a bit, so he can face her.] Waterbending, actually. Not quite magic.

Okay -- I'll bite. Just how do you bend water?

[He undoes the lid on the canteen at his side and streams the water out, with it floating in the air to match the motions of his hands.]

Very, very carefully.

[And then Buffy says something that she kinda, in retrospect, wishes she didn't say:] Your showers must be so...awesome.

[Oh Buffy, you really shouldn't have. He suddenly grins at that.] Well I wouldn't be against showing you sometime.

[Major blushage happening here. She buries her surprise in a sip of hot chocolate.]

I'll...I'll pass. I'm pretty expert at showering myself, thanks.

[He laughs at that.]

Well I was just talking demonstration, since it's so cold out. We can keep our clothes on.

Well, then...[she seems to be warming up to the idea!] If that's the case? Sounds like tonight'll be super spectacular.

Oh, it'll be special alright. I'll make sure of that.

[Hmm, does she drink? Well, she did work at a bar, so it stands to reason.]

I won't ask anything else. I don't want spoilers.

[She -- unfortunately -- could be talked into drinking.]

Now that I've raised your expectations, maybe I should start getting ready for it.

[And maybe go flirt with some more girls and schedule other dates.]

And I need to go find some nail polish.

[He finishes his hot chocolate and stands.]

Eight o'clock then. Dress warmly.

Eight. On the dot. [She stays behind.

But later in the evening? She is all dolled up on the porch, a heavier lined coat hiding most of that dolling.]

[He's there on time. Early, in fact, by one whole minute. The Moon is out and he's feeling confident, even if things with Winry... well, no reason to dwell on that. He is, likewise, dressed warmly in traditional Water Tribe everyday-wear.]

Buffy. Funny meeting you out here.

[A smile.]

Call it fate.

Hm. [He stops and seems to consider that, stroking his goatee.] I don't know, I always like to think we make our own fate.

And maybe I wanna change my preference to more likely we break our own fate.
