Sokka the 37th - [Written/Voice]

[Sokka's journal is writing out some strange stuff, none of it that Sokka wrote. Or at least, doesn't think he wrote. As he goes over it, he voices his comments at some of the really weird and cryptic messages it's giving him.]

Sokka Thunderaxe Bored today. Don't feel like working at the smithy today. Guess I'll check up on what I've missed.

Sokka commented on Buffy's status
Sokka: lol nice username
("I did!? When!?")

Sigmund needs help to win Fast Money!!
Sigmund could use help to win big prizes and points in Family Feud! Anyone who helps will earn points too!
("... okay...")

Sokka changed his relationship status to "It's Complicated"
("No it's not!")

Usopp just beat Adell in Cube Crash.
Usopp scored 25140 points, a new record!!!
("Admittedly, that is pretty impressive.")

Ginko ...like being showered in someone else's private jokes. Oi, oi. lmao, some of you get stirred up so easily.

Kushi I take it you're not affected by this, Ginko-san?
Katara Some of this stuff isn't very funny. But the blue disks are really fun!
Sokka Or, you know, just literally showered. In chocolate.
Raine It just seems more like an annoyance than anything else. That really won't stop people from complaining.
Vash I crashed violently into a tree. I think I was allowed to get a little stirred up.

("This seems vaguely familiar...")

...That's not what I meant.

There's a...[How to explain computers to someone with no computers...yeah, this'll make sense to Sokka. Not.]

We have a similar, but more complicated system at home that works like the journals work here, only it's world wide, and there's more than just flat out communication that goes on. One of those things is a sort of...group function called 'Facebook' where people put up personal information, post about their day, make comments on what other people write, and so forth. It's supposed to help groups of friends that are separated in the physical world stay connected. A lot of what you journal just put out is...pretty much like what the stuff on Facebook looks like.

[He tried, Sokka.]

If I remember right, it's a computer game where you make points by deleting same colored cubes from a board. The more cubes you delete at a time, the more points you get. I tried it a few times.

...Fell asleep about the third board in.

Lot of people like it, though.

They can...and they can get to all that other stuff, too.

It's...different. People are used to having those things attached to their head, used to being in constant contact even if it isn't verbally.

Kinda scary, really.

What's really bad is when you get the ones that will pay more attention to the phone than a person standing in front of them.

Yes.

...Makes me glad I'm usually out in the middle of nowhere, really.

Sometimes, I think maybe we should have never stopped using them.
