[After some more healing sessions, Sokka is almost back to feeling one hundred percent again. Which means he's going back to the smithy today, even if he can't do his usual share of the work, he can at least direct New Feathers with what they need. Besides, after seeing Zuko as a invalid for a few weeks, the last thing Sokka wants to do is spend too much time at home healing, even if it means using a staff to balance on in spite of that injured leg. One of the first things he'll be doing though is looking for Winry. If he can't find her at the smithy or clinic, he'll be making a trip to her house.

Later in the day he opens up his journal to make a voice message. He briefly considers making it filtered, but he's not going to talk about anything considered confidential anyway. Besides, he's feeling to tired to draw up a complicated anti-villain filter now that he has to change his usual pattern to include Azula.]

[Oh. That. He leans forward and is quiet for a moment.]

The Malnosso returned Winry about a week ago. When I went in to finish some stuff at the smithy Sunday morning, Winry was there. She had cut her arm open with a screwdriver. Those... those bastards made her think her arm was some kind of prosthetic.

Oh, Sokka... [She reaches out to touch his shoulder and is quiet with him for a long moment. 'I'm sorry' isn't anywhere near enough... so she doesn't say it.]

...have you seen her since we got back?

[He nods when she finally speaks, preferring that to silence.] She's fine, now. But she doesn't know that I had to knock her out to get her to stop.

[...oh man.] Are you going to tell her?

She thinks she hit her head. I guess what she doesn't know can't hurt me.

Unless she finds out from someone else. ...secrets have a habit of coming out, you know.

Maybe I'll find some way of bring it up. She hits me in the head plenty as it is.

[Huh. Not sure how she feels about that. And yet...] You probably deserve it.

Of course you'd say that. It's not enough I get that from you and Toph. [Have a frown.]

[Shrug.] What can I say? It's good to know that someone takes over when you're out of sight.. figuratively speaking.

Suki never hits me.

[Eyebrow.]

I miss Suki.

[Oh, not fair, Sokka. Using truth like that.] Aww. Need a hug?

[So changing the subject now.] So. Jet. Is it just me or is he even more annoying than ever?

[She crosses her arms.] It is definitely not just you. I wonder if Longshot's noticed too.

[Well that makes him feel a bit more satisfied. He was worried that Katara would continue to be plagued by poor judgment.]

It almost makes me want to introduce him to Azula. But I don't think Azula deserves that.

[...introduce Jet... to Azula.]

[brb, dying laughing forever.]

[She wipes a laughter tear away from her eye.] Oh man. I wish Aang was around to hear that.

[She grins at him and shakes her head.] I don't think that great-granddaddy would approve.

But they have so much in common! I'm sure once they get past hating eachother they'd realize that. Roku will just have to learn to accept the needs of the younger generation.

[Oh man, more laughing. Ow, that's a little twinge in the side. Stupid Zuko, scoring a hit there yesterday. Right in the still-healing side too.]

Well, that would be one way to not have to worry about him anymore. Romance can really take a guy off your hands. [Sly look in your direction.]

[Wait, what's that supposed to mean?]

Yup. It's a brilliant plan. [Grin.] Now how are we going to do it without Hawky?

I'm sure we can figure out something. It worked for those notes on Valentine's.
