Sokka the 18th - [Action]

[So after Katara has had her counseling session (with Sokka naturally following her around and being even more Batman super spy than usual), the two will be heading deep in the forest to search for Zuko. They'll try to raise him a few times on the journals, but are otherwise prepared to stay a few nights in the forest, even packing enough gear to spend a few nights camping if need be. After the loss of Toph, Sokka has no intention of seeing their missing comrade suffering a similar fate.

If for some reason your character is out deep in the forest, they may run across the two Watersibs combing their way through the forest. They may not exactly be the most conversational, but they'll probably talk to you if there's good reason to. Feel free to run into them while they're either hiking or if it's late in the day, setting up camp for the night.

Note: Either Katara or Sokka (or both) will answer your character.]

[Well that's not Zuko, but it catches Sokka interest, because Zuko could be involved. Sokka will be investigation, pressing himself up against a tree as he spies on the source of the shots, trying to make out who it is.]

[Katara, on the other hand, is just pissed off. If this brings her a fight, she welcomes it. She's got her hand on her waterskin and just calls out as she marches towards the sound.]

Hello? Is someone there?

[Voices? Vash wasn't expecting anyone; but he's learning that doesn't matter in Luceti. And is that...] Katara?

[... dammit Katara. Sokka will be following after her. His hand at first on his sword, but he'll let go once he hears Vash's voice.]

Vash? Why are you out here?

[markofthebrave]

[Katara's equally surprised. But she tries to smile anyway. ...does she smell... smoke?] Hey, Vash.

[goldenglasses]

I could ask you two the same question. [His gun long holstered - dodging question? Maybe just a little as Toph didn't take the idea of him being a gunman too well.]

[markofthewise]

[Sokka doesn't exactly see the point in keeping it a secret. Vash may have never met him, but...]

We're looking for Zuko.

[markofthebrave]

[Katara nods.] Angry kid, scar on one side of his face... [She holds up her hand to demonstrate where it is.]

Did you see what was making that noise?

[goldenglasses]

No... is he missing too?

O-oh. And that was me. I was practicing.

[markofthewise]

For the past week. It's... complicated.

A gun, right? [Sokka works in the smithy, so he has a good idea of what that sound was, given that Elisa carried one around. Which was why he was being a lot more cautious than Katara was.]

So you don't think he was... taken?

Yeah, I'm a gunman.

[markofthewise]

... he might have. [Sokka didn't want to admit it, but it was a real possibility.] But there was never a message. I know there isn't always a message, but usually there is.

[markofthebrave]

And there's no fires. There's no way Zuko would have gone down without a fight. He's too stubborn for that.

Ah, Zuko's the fire bender right? I'm sorry I haven't seen him.

[markofthewise]

[Sokka sighs. He expected as much.] I figured as much.

[markofthebrave]

[Time to move on, then, but...]

What's a gunman?

I'm a hunter of peace, chasing the elusive mayfly known as love~! And to protect the innocent I use a gun. [Un-holsters his handgun for you to see.]

[markofthewise]

[Somehow his passionate speech isn't as impressive. And frankly Sokka has no problem with guns.] Oh yeah. I think you told me that once.

[markofthebrave]

[His speech makes Katara raise an eyebrow. This reminds her of how Sanji behaves around women -- well, without the pink hearts. Maybe it's the hair? She approaches to look at the gun.]

I've never seen anything like that before. Mind if I... [She holds out her hand.]

Sure. [Having just fired the six rounds in it he'll hand it over.]

[Not knowing that, Sokka is going to watch VERY closely. He knows that those things can do.]

[Thanks for the warning, big brother. -_- Meanwhile, Katara will spin the barrel and stare at the thing.]

It's heavier than I thought it would be. How does it work?

Well, right now the shells are empty. If they were full you'd point this end at the target and squeeze the trigger and the bullet would fly out. You have to be very careful with guns; they can be very dangerous and do a lot of damage.

[markofthewise]

[Well then here's your warning!] They're fired by the same powder used in fireworks. Not even Earthbenders can fire projectiles as fast as guns can. They're very dangerous.

[markofthebrave]

[...OK, something that small can be that dangerous? That's a little scary. Still.]
