[So after going around breaking hearts and fighting evil demons, Sokka has found a new hobby to get his mind off of how annoying Luceti can be. That hobby? Cooking!

Surprisingly enough, despite the fact he's used the smithy as his personal kitchen for the past few days, Sokka has managed to complete a batch of eel jerky (or rather, a dish of mán xiāng consisting of salt cured eel) that actually doesn't taste absolutely horrible. It's nothing exceptional, but it is rather tasty. He's set out a plate of the stuff in the smithy, along with some vinegar bowl in a display that looks nowhere near as nice as this picture. At the very least it looks edible. Anyone who for whatever reason decides to drop by the smithy today are more than welcome to try some of Sokka's latest cooking experiment. Otherwise he's going to be inviting people over the journal.]

Hey Sanji, Brook! I finished the eel jerky I told you about. If you want to drop by you can have some. Anyone else who wants some can drop by too, but it probably won't last long if everyone does, though.

Should only take me a few days to sort things out. You might want to take a spare sword with you, just in case. You never know when some jerk will decide to burn a store down.

I might have it done as early as tomorrow, but a good professional never makes commitments he may not be able to keep.

A good point! [Moving to rummage through the swords now] Ah, and thank you for the jerky. It was quite tasty! If Sanji-san drops by, you should give him the recipe!

He seemed interested in it when I told him. And I did give him an invitation.

Splendid! The whole crew will likely get to have some eventually, in that case.

Probably! [Blunt Brook is blunt. But as cheerful as he sounds saying that, he clearly doesn't mean for it to be insulting] He's quite the chef!

Between you and me? Katara is good cook and everything, but I kind of miss having Sanji bringing over meals for us.

Well you could always join us for dinner from time to time, if you miss it! [Sure the house has a bad track record - they manage to have visitors over safely every once in a while!]

The way Sanji described it, I'd be risking the loss of a few fingers if I did.

Nonsense! All you need to do is guard your plate and finish your meal as quickly as you can, if you're interested in thirds! [And play tug of war with Luffy over the meat every once in a while]

Is it acceptable to bring a machete to the table?

Zoro-san brings his swords, so I don't see why not! [Rummage, rummage, rummage]

Well I'd hate to just invite myself over... [So you should do it for him.]

I mean, hate to invite us over. You know, Katara and Toph. And Zuko, wherever he is.

Oh! Well they can come along too, then! And I actually haven't had the opportunity of meeting Zuko-san yet. You said he was a firebender, yes? [Thinking] I would assume that that's similar to what Toph-san does with the earth, but with fire instead.

Right. And Katara does the same thing with water. And I... hit things with a sword.

[He remembers 8[ ] There's nothing wrong with that! That's what Zoro-san and I do, after all! [Pulling out a sword to inspect. Hmm... not bad.]

Speaking of which, you were pretty impressive out there with those Aku things.

I've been a swordsman for most of my life now, so I would hope so! Ah, even if I'm already dead. Yohohoho! But oddly, being a skeleton has actually improved how effective I am in battle. I can move much quicker than I used to now that I'm just bones. It isn't much of a trade off, but there's that at least!

[A few practice swings] And what of you? Of what I saw in that fight, you seemed quite talented yourself!

I guess skin and muscle and organs would slow you down a bit...

Do you think so? I've had a few different teachers. I like to mix up my style, a little.

If you're style of fighting differs from the way you were taught, it's typically a mark of good swordsmanship! Creativity makes you a less predictable opponent.

I'd definitely like to think that's the case. It's what Master Piandao said, anyways.
