Sokka the 12th - [Written/Action]

Since my sister arrived, me, Toph, and Zuko have moved to House 56. Right next to Building 5, hard to miss. Just thought I'd filter this though, what with evil demons going around destroying houses and stuff. So feel free to update your address book!

[And that's all Sokka is writing for now. Right now he's working on getting his room set up if his housemates want to bother him. Just about everything is moved over now, not that there was a whole lot to take. Sokka will miss those purple walls back home, though. He's a little bummed out since he recently discovered that his old 'boss' Elisa stopped showing up to give him sandwiches at the smithy and seems to be gone altogether. Sure, he's his own boss now, but he was getting rather fond of jalapenos...]

[Make way for Sokka chugging down a soda as he collapses on the couch in the living room, casually splashing liquid here and there.] Not bad, right?

Well, Katara made up with him once before. She can probably do it again, right?

I dunno. Last time around he was able to promise to find you know who. It's not like there's much of a chance of that happening here.

Yeah, probably a bad idea. There's gotta be another way to keep her from hating his guts, though. You think maybe she'll get over it by herself? I mean, we've all been kidnapped, and there are bigger baddies here than the Fire Lord. Those demons, I mean. There's no time to waste hating Zuko.

True, there is Mister Flameybrows running around now. Not that I want to pick a fight with him or anything. If only I had Hawky to deliver some messages to Katara and Zuko...

We could try and get a hawk here to do it. The animals talk and stuff, so it might work out. Or you could just send them a message with your book.

[And sometime after Sokka's moved on, enter Katara] Hey Toph.

[Frowny face at the spilled soda. She'll just... bend that up and into an abandoned glass. It takes concentration to do and that's just another thing that's irritating her, but she knows she'll have to adjust.] Mind if I sit down?

Go on ahead. [And oh man, she's missed having Katara around more than she realized. She's everybody's incredibly cool mommy.]

[So Katara sits down and curls up on the edge of the couch. She hasn't had a chance to miss them - as far as she is concerned, she was just with them. But they've apparently been here without her, and so she wants to catch up and see how Toph is doing. (Because. Yes. Mother hen.)]

So Sokka told me that you were here for a week before he got here. What was that like?

...Well, it was kinda scary. This giant wolf god told me about the people here torturing people. It was weird not having everyone around with me.

[She successful stifles the urge to 'aww' and pull Toph into a hug at this admission.] Torture? A giant wolf god? That's a little disturbing. I would have been scared too.

[Can not resist the urge to put a hand on Toph's shoulder for a minute.] ...nothing like that... happened to you, right? [Because if it did Katara doesn't care who or how, they are going to pay. If they can take on the Fire Nation and save the world, then nothing is impossible, even here.]

No. Not yet, anyway. But they got a bunch of my friends.

[And Katara can only resist the hug impulse so long. She's going to slide right on over with the intent of wrapping her arms around Toph's shoulders.] Oh, Toph. I'm so sorry.

[SOB. NO CRYING FROM MACHO TOPH. NOT EVEN A LITTLE, OKAY? SHE IS MACHO TOPH. But she's totally goin' for that hug.]

[Katara's not going to say anything. She's just going to hold Toph close for as long as Toph lets herself be held, and hurt with her. She's here now, and as long as she has anything to say about it none of her friends will have to go through anything by themselves while she's around.]

[After Toph pulls back, she'll change the subject. Those nonexistent sobs and tears, the actual clinging hug? Never happened.] It wasn't all terrible and full of wolf gods, I hope. Did anything good happen?

[Yaaay Katara!mommy hug. and, yeah, Toph is more than happy to just move right along.]

Well, yeah. I met a bunch of new friends and they have this awesome stuff called soda here. And we have our own house, which is also cool. And I started up this massage place for a couple days, but I think that was just because of an experiment.

A massage place? You? ...was that around the same time Sokka decided to become firebender?

Pretty much. I did a couple mud wraps and stuff but no one wanted acupuncture. Go figure.
