Sokka the 12th - [Written/Action]

Since my sister arrived, me, Toph, and Zuko have moved to House 56. Right next to Building 5, hard to miss. Just thought I'd filter this though, what with evil demons going around destroying houses and stuff. So feel free to update your address book!

[And that's all Sokka is writing for now. Right now he's working on getting his room set up if his housemates want to bother him. Just about everything is moved over now, not that there was a whole lot to take. Sokka will miss those purple walls back home, though. He's a little bummed out since he recently discovered that his old 'boss' Elisa stopped showing up to give him sandwiches at the smithy and seems to be gone altogether. Sure, he's his own boss now, but he was getting rather fond of jalapenos...]

Right. So, the Western Air Temple. So apparently while we were escaping, Zuko comes following after us in War Balloon all on his own. A few days later.... [And Sokka explains Zuko's fail attempts to get on their good side, including how Toph got her feet burned, Appa licking him, and so forth. He'll go into what he remembers of Zuko's explanation for being unhappy and his choice to help Aang, although Sokka's explanation of that is admittedly poor.]

And we just believed him and let him stay? [And now Katara is miffed at her future self for allowing such a thing. Not to mention everyone else.]

I didn't believe him either, but Aang trusted him and Toph thought he was okay. I figured that was enough, even though I still kept an eye on him. More importantly, with Sozin's Comet still coming, someone had to teach Aang to firebend.

[Very grudgingly, Katara will admit that this is practical. But that doesn't mean she has to like it.] ...well all right, fine. Did he actually come through? [Why no, she's not looking for an excuse to hunt him down here and now.]

As a matter of fact he did. A few days later, I asked him where dad would be. So that night, I went to take Appa to the Boiling Rock prison. [He continues on to tell her about how Zuko went with him, their time in the prison, finding Suki, and eventually all of them escaping.] ... if Zuko had been planning to betray us, he could have turned me in at the prison.

[Yeah, she got the part that Zuko helped him rescue their dad and Suki and maybe a tiiiiny bit of 'he's OK' was planted before being overwhelmed with fury that he'd risk himself like that, trusting only Zuko.]

I had to go there, with or without Zuko. It was my invasion, my plan, and I was the one who failed. [Now it's Sokka's turn to be upset. Even though the Fire Lord was defeated, he still feels responsible for everything that went wrong on the invasion.] If Zuko hadn't went with me, I would've never got out of there by myself.

[Her response is immediate, brain to mouth filter - gone] Don't be so selfish! It was your plan but we all agreed with it because it was a good one, the best we had! If the plan failed we all failed. We were beaten, but there's no shame in that. As long as we got back up. [...and she softens, grows a little uncertain] And we did, right? We won in the end.

I know I wasn't there, but even if I was I'm sure I'd say the same thing. I'm just glad you're OK.

[Actually it was the Earth King that failed, that doofus. But that does cheer him up, even if he was being accused of selfishness there.]

It was something along those lines, I think. But you're right. In the end, Aang stopped Ozai before he could decimate the Fire Nation. [Conveniently leaving out the events with their mother's murderer.]
