Twice and change. But living's a more difficult thing for some people than for others. For all you know I spent those years being fed iced fruits while servants attended to my every whim. Which is to say: it's not just the space of years, it's the things you put into them.

An exciting life of being fed iced fruits, drinking lamp oil, and wearing dentures, I take it.

It isn't exactly a long story. A group of powerful assassins murdered my parents. I tried to fight back, there was an ensuing political scandal, and I had to flee the country, lest the shadows ever catch up with me!

See, I can't imagine what that would be like, to have something like that happen to you so young.

And, of course it did! It bothered me a lot. But, I have reasons for trying not to let anger get the better of me. And, well, they were my parents. It's something for me to feel sorry about— I don't need any help.

I guess I can respect that. It's not a subject I like to talk about either.

It's been about twenty years, anyway. And you know what they say about time and all wounds.
