Sokka the 1st | [Voice/Action]

[Sokka is still sleeping comfortably, thanks in a large part to having arrived inside of a nice warm house. That is, he's sleeping on the floor of House 2 and somehow both snoring and drooling on his open journal. His usual clothes, which were nicely folded around him, have been unconsciously snatched at and thrown on top of him as a makeshift blanket. Naturally all that snoring is being transmitted by voice, as is a few other words...]

Hmmm... stop Momo... that's... vegetables!?

Alright... [This time Sokka is the one that assumes a stance, but doesn't strike.]

[He's clever! Nash throws the sword from one hand to the other, and does a kind of flashy twirl. His first strike, though, is pretty feeble, but his next is stronger, and so on.]

[Sokka is now on the defensive, but he seems to be able to parry most of the blows without too much trouble. But he's quickly approaching the limits of his talents. He does manage a counter at one point, though.]

[Sokka has clearly been trained by someone who knew what he was doing, so Nash is pretty impressed. He tries a trickier move, switching hands again, quickly, so that the blade comes from the opposite side.]

[Being naturally ambidextrous, Sokka is able to deflect the attack, but not as easily as he would have hoped. At this point, Sokka notices the snow is a bit deeper behind Nash, so he starts pressing his attack again, hoping to force his older opponent back.]

[Tricky fighting! Okay. He'll take a step backwards.]

[Sokka smirks and presses the attack again. Just a few more steps...]

[Nash might know what you're doing, he might not. It's hard to tell. But he does step backwards.]

[With only one step to go, Sokka suddenly lunges forward.]

[So he steps back to dodge, putting his left foot into the deeper snow, leaving himself unbalanced.]

[Now fully confident he might actually win this, Sokka goes for another attack at Nash's right.]

[He can still block, but it's obviously much harder. He still seems to be enjoying himself.] This would never happen in a regulation duel, you know!

Regulations shmegulations! [Sokka hadn't thought about that, but it was kind of like cheating. Even so, he wasn't going to give up the advantage he had won himself. So he started to be more aggressive. He couldn't overpower Nash, but maybe he could cause him to slip up...]

Not very fond of doing things by the book? [ Nash's foot caught on a branch that was hidden beneath the snow. Ow. Now would be a good time to really press the advantage. ] It's a shame, since I just got out of one.

Technically no one ever gave me the book to read. [He tries a few more blows, this time taking a cue from Nash and this time swinging from the left instead.]

Did you ever ask for it? [He dodges the sword, but in the process falls over, so now he's just sitting in the snow.]

Should I have? [Sokka lowers his sword.]

What do you think?

... no?

You might be right. But then, I don't have to play fair, either. [ He shoots something from his right sleeve, and it whizzes past Sokka's face. Obviously, it wasn't meant to hit him. And then, Nash is standing up again. ] It's a shame, I usually have some sort of saying for moments like these.

Oh, I know! You could say something like, "Playing by the rules... is snow fun!"

No. No, I really couldn't.

[Sokka wiped a tear from his eye from his HILARIOUS joke.] Everybody's a critic. I guess I should start taking this stuff home.

Everybody is. And it's a lot of stuff.

[By now Sokka has gathered all his weapons again into a large pile of icy and wet implements of pain and has them all in hand.] Thanks for the match, Nash. Next time I'll try and fight fair.
