Sokka's little sister. They grew up together in the South Pole and are extremely close, especially since their mother died when they were young and their father left them to go to war a few years later. Consequently, the two have a very close bond. Despite the fact they argue a lot.

She arrived in Luceti two months after Sokka and is roughly about two months behind him in their world's timeline. They have been in Luceti longer than any of their other friends from home, both of them having been in Luceti for two years now.

A waterbender, allowing her to control water in all its forms. Sokka possesses some jealousy over her abilities and used to hold some resentment over it too. He finds her ability to use 'bloodbending' to be scary, having been victim to it when Hama used it against him.

Now that Katara is old enough to be wed, Sokka has grown more protective of her than he was in the past. He takes his duty to her as older brother very seriously, even if he doesn't show it. Sometimes she seems to be the older sister in the way she is often the one taking care of Sokka. He gets annoyed if people point this out.

He is now aware of Katara being the target of the raid that led to their mother's death. He doesn't blame her for it.

Toph Bei Fong

Relationship: Best Friend

A blind girl and powerful earthbender. She was recruited to the gaang to be Aang's earthbending teacher. Although she usually mocks Sokka, the two of them get along well. By now, Sokka considers her to be like a younger sister. Or brother. Whichever.

She's been in Luceti three different times since Sokka has been around. Each time she has forgotten her previous experiences. She is currently unaware that Sokka spent his first Love Experiment with her. He is consequently aware of her crush on him, though it's no longer practical given their increased age gap.

Things are strained after she bailed him out of a dream caused by a Shifter. She was given sight during it, a fact that not many know about. The two of them don't agree on how to handle the future of their world and their experiences in Luceti.

Sokka finds her earthbending and metalbending skills to be incredibly cool. Though he tries to downplay it now that he's older, he remains her number one fan.

Zuko

Relationship: Good Friend / Ally

Previously Zuko was an enemy of the group, having been trying to hunt down the Avatar to restore his honor. Sokka and the other clashed with Zuko many times, usually with Sokka never able to hold his own against the prince. Eventually, Zuko joined the group to teach Aang firebending. After helping Sokka break his dad out of prison, Zuko and Sokka were able to become awkward friends.

Zuko has been in Luceti a few times since Sokka first arrived, but he arrived again in March '11. As a result, Sokka is now older than him now.

Thanks to Sokka's extensive training, the two of them are closely matched in swordplay. Sokka managed to win in their most recent 'swordbending kai'.

Aang

Relationship: Best Friend / Family

The Avatar himself, that he and his sister found in iceberg and then proceeded to help guide him in his destiny to save the world. Despite Aang's great power and destiny, Sokka treats him like a goofy little brother.

Because of Sokka's years in Luceti, his relationship with Aang isn't as close as what they had back home, especially from Aang's perspective. Sokka subsequently has a hard time relating to him as he did before, especially with the things he's done because of Luceti.

Thanks to the airbenders from the future, Sokka knows that Aang will eventually get together with Katara. Although it does give him the 'oogies' to think of it (especially with Katara three years older than him), he doesn't have a problem with it.

The next Avatar, after Aang. Sokka likes Korra so far, since she's a lot like him personality and interests. Not to mention she's a fellow member of the Southern Water Tribe. And hey, she's pretty too.

In another lifetime, Sokka occupied the role of the Avatar after Aang, so he feels like he has a certain 'connection' to Korra, even if it may be an artificial construction of the Malnosso. He has yet to reveal this, though. It would be too weird.

Asami Sato

A friend of the Avatar from the future. She's another nonbender like him and seems to have a pretty strong familiarity with technology. Sokka doesn't know much about her, but she seems nice. And she's drop dead gorgeous.

Jinora

Relationship: Grand Niece

The future granddaughter of his sister and Avatar Aang. She's the older sister of a group of kids and among the more quiet. Sokka finds her pretty easy to be around, since her studious nature is something he can certainly respect.

Jinora and Ikki have already made their way into his heart as family, despite knowing them for such a short time. He feels a strong sense of responsibility and protectiveness for them.

Tarrlok

Relationship: Future Person

A politician from the future, from the same sort of government that Sokka apparently helped establish. That alone makes Sokka interested in him.

Sokka is aware Tarrlok was a bloodbender, though he had his power taken away. It leaves Sokka wary all the same, because a lost power isn't impossible to regain. Especially in Luceti.
