Sokka the 73rd - [Action/Voice]

[The house was demolished. And apparently it didn't have the decency to start putting itself together again. Not to mention the whole town was soggy. Most of Sokka's stuff in his room had been damaged. Some of it was salvageable, much of it he had to just throw out. His important valuables were in the basement and though there was a few inches of water down there, his stuff was up high and out of reach. Still, another mess to clean. At least there were two waterbenders in the house to clean that up. For a lover of stuff, Sokka was pretty put out by it. He hadn't been able to sleep in his room because of it. In a way though, he couldn't be upset. It felt right. Like starting over.

And then there was the smithy. Or what was left of it. The whole thing was rubble now. He wasn't even sure if there was a point in trying to pick through it. Best to wait until the Malnosso fixed it, right? It was freeing up his schedule considerably, anyway. At least he was back to his normal practice schedule in the mornings. Even if two straight weeks of combat had left him... weary of it, to say the least. All the same. He found himself to be glad to be back in Luceti. Back in the library, studying his alchemy. Sure, he lost all his notes and would have to start over, but it would be easier since he already knew what needed to be done again. Still. There was so much to go over.]

A guy can't leave for a few weeks without the town getting demolished, huh? Anyway. So uh. A lot of stuff has happened this past week. If anyone wants to, you know, spare some of the good details? I'll be around. Interested. And if you want? I can tell you all about space. Which was pretty great.

[Very around. Like hanging out in the plaza around. No smithy kind of leaves him with no daytime hangout spot. Especially without Suki to spend time with. So besides his training and time at the library, he's very much a man with nothing to do. Evidenced by the fact he's sitting at a bench near the fountain, lazily sprawled out as he counts his one hundredth consecutive hit on a paddle ball. It's uncanny how good he actually is with it.]

Hey, at least they weren't on fire this time.

[You'd have been pretty dense not to, man. But there are some things Nami will just...talk about in person.]

You home?

Home? Not so much. On account of home being very much... unhomely. What with the holes in the ceiling. And the parts that were burned. And the water everywhere.

Yeah, I... kinda heard from Katara. Where are you, then? [The smithy was totalled, she thinks.]

Just hanging around the plaza. There's not much else to do. [He is so friggin' bored, okay.] I can drop by wherever you are, though.

I'm home. Feel free to come on round and I'll fill you in on the rest.

I guess your house survived the storm, huh? It'll be nice to have an actual roof overhead.

It's taken some damage, but it's still reasonably intact. [Franky's carpentry is a wonderful thing. Which is just as well, given that...wouldn't repair itself.] Kitchen's fine, anyway.

Sure. I'll drop by in a few minutes.

[You do that, Sokka. Nami will make a couple of orange juice slushie things while she waits.]

[Before long, he'll be knocking at that there door, unaware of the treat waiting for him.]

Come in! [Calling from the living room because she's just too lazy to go open the door, man. No really, she's just putting said slushies down on the table, so seriously. Door's unlocked.]

[Wow, so lazy. He hesitates a moment before pushing the door open and heading inside. It's not too hard to spot her from the entrance, so he just makes his way over. He notes the slushies right off.]

Hey. What are these for?

They're drinks. What do you think they're for? [She pushes one towards him across the table.] Though if you don't want one, I can happily drink them both.

[Because orange. Welcome to Nami's hospitality.]

No no! I'm good. Thanks. [He is quick to take the smoothie. Just in case. And have a quick taste.] It's good.

I know. [Grin. But she looks thoughtful soon after, sipping on her own.] So has anyone told you anything about what you've missed?

I've heard parts of it. [Mostly from Yuri, but she wasn't that great a source of information.] I heard Catherine died though. [He takes a sip of his- ohh, wow, good.]

Yeah, that's right. [She takes a seat, face sober.] Old age and too many injuries.

I'm assuming you know the Malnosso demanded we hand him over. [At least, she assumes Sokka was around for that part, so she glances up at him expectedly just in case.]

Katara filled me in on the ship.

[Not that she wanted to. But he didn't really give her a choice.]

Well, we kind of decided they could go to hell on that score. So we hid him. They sent in search teams a few days later, smack bang in the middle of a hurricane. Which...I'm still trying to work out if it was natural or not. But I can't see that it helped them that much if not.

[Well. Go to hell isn't quite how Katara put it...]

If it wasn't natural, they sure went to a lot of trouble for it. We could see it from in space. And it was... big. Way bigger than Luceti.

[So, it seems like a lot of effort for what they were doing.]

[That gets a long surprised look before Nami blinks and looks down at her slushie.] You know, that's common sense. I knew you guys were going up into space. I didn't think about being able to look down on the whole place from up there.

[He offers a small shrug.]

I was hoping to see what the planet looked like. [Continents and stuff. And also because looking at the planet from space? Awesome.] But I couldn't really make anything out underneath all the clouds.

That's a shame. [Because she was about to ask him about that, pretty much. A lot of clouds doesn't tell her much at all, especially with a storm system like the one they had.

Oh well, back to the subject at hand.]

Anyway. They didn't find him. But turns out Catherine was too injured and too old after all. He died soon after the storm blew itself out.

...he addressed everyone in Luceti, though. Have you seen the entry?

[A nod.]

Yeah, I found it after Yuri mentioned it. Did you talk to him?

Yeah. I was kind of on hand. [She smiles faintly.] Sadly my request for ultimate ruling power over Luceti was denied.
