Sokka the 70th - [Action/Voice]
Okay, I just need everyone's attention for a minute. At least, those of you who, you know, like weapons.
I'm Sokka and I guess you could say I'm in charge of the weapon shop and smithy. I've been working with Leon Geeste, who is a kind of master alchemist guy, to make even better weapons. With his crests and my weapons, we can add a kind of magical element to them now. For instance, a sword can be given a fire element and that will make the blade burn and make it deadlier. Or a spear could be given an ice element that will freeze around the target a little. And, you know, other stuff. There's earth, air, and lightning elements too.
Anyway, these aren't always the easiest things to make, but... if it's a thing you want, we can do it. We've got stuff already made, but we can do something custom too. But just be practical, right? Sure, we might be able to figure out how to put crests into a hundred arrows. But we might also decide to, you know, have social lives too. These crests work best with a single weapon that you'll keep reusing. I can uh, explain it better, if you need me to.
[With that announcement out of the way, Sokka will hang out at the smithy until dinner time. He wants to be there and ready in case anyone wants these cool new unique weapons. Unless, of course, no one shows up. In which case he'll be at his work desk converting his alchemy notes into code, which is proving to be his least favorite thing to do ever. He kind of hates Ed now for telling him he had to do this. But it's what he has to do if he wants to prevent the secrets of meat alchemy from falling into the wrong hands. Who knows what people could do with that kind of power!
After closing up shop and doing his usual dinner at home, Sokka will be unusually taking a walk around the village in the evening. He's actually got a lot on his mind and without smithing or alchemy to occupy his thoughts, he's stuck on the Masaomi problem. He's half hoping that he'll run into the guy on the streets, but he's still not entirely sure how to approach the problem. Before the evening's over, he'll end up at Good Spirits, concerned and drowning his thoughts into a nice tall glass of... hot chocolate. Because that's what men do. Drink tall cups of hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows and whipped cream.]
((ooc: Some more details on the crafted weapons can be found over here.))

[Action]
I was considering a longsword, though none of these are within my tastes ... I would be willing to concede if the crest adds to the beauty of the blade, however.
[Action]
Well, I can't actually add it to any of those. The crest is added while the sword is being made... [So she can get a longsword that's... more her size.]
[Action]
I see. Then I will need to request a custom-made weapon after all. [A small nod to herself, then--] How good are you at recreating blades that already exist? I would be able to provide the blade in question, of course.
[Action]
Well it probably depends on the blade. The shape? Sure. What it's made out of? We're pretty limited.
[Action]
[As she says this, she moves her right hand behind her. With a small, barely noticeable flash, an oddly shaped longsword, almost as long as she is tall, materializes in her hand.
She'll be holding the blade up vertically in front of her after that, continuing her conversation as if what happened were perfectly normal.]
So then, if this shape is not beyond your capabilities, I would like to have it's copy be in blue, rather than the original's red.
[She says this as if she were asking a clothing store attendant to find a shirt for her in a different color. She may be well-versed in design, but this sort of thing ... it's pretty clear from the way she's talking that she doesn't have much understanding in how weapons are actually made.]
[Action]
I uh... tend to usually operate with stuff more uh, practical. Are you sure a lice straight and sturdy longsword wouldn't be better?
[Action]
I would prefer it to be similar to this one.
[She lowers her sword, pausing for a moment. Perhaps he simply wasn't skilled enough to copy her blade, and was trying to come up with an excuse instead? Yes, that must be it. Her sword is perfection incarnate, after all.]
However, if this blade is out of your range of skill, I shall settle for less. An ordinary longsword it is, then.
[Action]
Ordinary is better. It'll make the crest work easier. Especially since it can sometimes ruin the blade and make us start from scratch.
[Action]
A pity ... Ah, but materials are quite limited here, are they not? I suppose you're left without a choice, then.
[Action]
[At least this was going a bit better now.]
[Action]
Although, "a bit better" might be wishful thinking, with the next thing that comes out of her mouth.]
Shall I draft it's design now, or would you rather I deliver it at a later date? I am in the midst of drafting other designs, but would certainly not mind drafting a more simplistic one.
[Action]
You want to design it?
[Action]
[Action]
[Action]
[With a sigh and a shake of her head, she continues on.]
Very well then. I will bring a design draft in the coming days. Be ready for it.
[Action]
[Action]
[Aaaaaand she's leaving!]
