Sokka the 70th - [Action/Voice]

Okay, I just need everyone's attention for a minute. At least, those of you who, you know, like weapons.

I'm Sokka and I guess you could say I'm in charge of the weapon shop and smithy. I've been working with Leon Geeste, who is a kind of master alchemist guy, to make even better weapons. With his crests and my weapons, we can add a kind of magical element to them now. For instance, a sword can be given a fire element and that will make the blade burn and make it deadlier. Or a spear could be given an ice element that will freeze around the target a little. And, you know, other stuff. There's earth, air, and lightning elements too.

Anyway, these aren't always the easiest things to make, but... if it's a thing you want, we can do it. We've got stuff already made, but we can do something custom too. But just be practical, right? Sure, we might be able to figure out how to put crests into a hundred arrows. But we might also decide to, you know, have social lives too. These crests work best with a single weapon that you'll keep reusing. I can uh, explain it better, if you need me to.

[With that announcement out of the way, Sokka will hang out at the smithy until dinner time. He wants to be there and ready in case anyone wants these cool new unique weapons. Unless, of course, no one shows up. In which case he'll be at his work desk converting his alchemy notes into code, which is proving to be his least favorite thing to do ever. He kind of hates Ed now for telling him he had to do this. But it's what he has to do if he wants to prevent the secrets of meat alchemy from falling into the wrong hands. Who knows what people could do with that kind of power!

After closing up shop and doing his usual dinner at home, Sokka will be unusually taking a walk around the village in the evening. He's actually got a lot on his mind and without smithing or alchemy to occupy his thoughts, he's stuck on the Masaomi problem. He's half hoping that he'll run into the guy on the streets, but he's still not entirely sure how to approach the problem. Before the evening's over, he'll end up at Good Spirits, concerned and drowning his thoughts into a nice tall glass of... hot chocolate. Because that's what men do. Drink tall cups of hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows and whipped cream.]

Well, what if you could carry it all? [ Nope. Not really. As long as there's a weapon to list, she will list it! ]

Then I'd probably be strong enough that I don't actually need to use weapons anymore. I could just punch my enemies with my super strength. [Which he had once. It was awesome.]

You'd be just as strong as Lady Tsunade! Her attacks are legendary! They say a single finger from her can tear up the ground! [ Somewhere an inner Tenten is screaming at outer Tenten for getting so off topic. ]

[That's pretty strong. Sokka was a Czarnian once. He was able to destroy skyscrapers on accident...]

Well... sure, but any earthbender can do that. Besides, what does that have to do with weapons?

Earthbender? [ Oh, man, this conversation is awesome! ] I'm actually not sure what that has to do with weaponry though. I think we' were talking about the most conventional way to carry more than weapon. [ It is quite an average tactic. ]

Yeah. I was saying that I only bring what I can carry and won't slow me down.

Well, I have something that carries my weapons for me so I don't tend to encounter that problem much. [ She'll just gently place the bait to the Greatest Conversation About Weapons In Luceti History Ever™ now. ]

So, what, do you use really big backspaces?

[weaponry]

No. I store my weaponry into scrolls to summon them at a later time. [ All of that build up for that boring explanation ): Such a shame. ]

... well, that's handy. Also? Incredibly unfair.

[weaponry]

Well, when you live in a world rife with immortal ninjas, or people that can level the city with a swing of their arms, you have to have something just to make sure you aren't totally dead. [ compared to everyone else with their techniques, Tenten is fodder! ] How else am I supposed to compete with people that make thousands of clones of themselves or tsunamis made entirely out of sand?

[Level cities with the swing of their arms. So. Like being in Luceti.]

Generally speaking, that's about the point you start looking into space travel. [And he thought HIS world was bad.] But. I know what you mean. But I still have to make do with just, you know, weapons.

[weaponry]

[ Tenten didn't have to adjust to Luceti. Or she didn't once she was busted out of the wall she arrived in. ]

Yep. [ She shrugs. ] It's a struggle just to make sure my abiltiies can inflict some damage to the people I face, though this is mostly if they have the ability to manipulate wind or become intangible. [ Both of which are canon opponents Tenten's faced or has planned to face! Oh boy oh boy isn't that fun! ] It's a shame you don't have a transport system like ours. Do you use explosive seals too? Or is that another thing we solely use. [ She knows some people have expressed a vague familiarity with the explosive tag, but not everyone has! ]

Explosive tags? Not so much. I just use regular explosives. Some gunpowder, put it in a cylinder, add an igniter. It's not magically convenient storage wise, but science packs a pretty good punch too.

[And during drafts, he packs some awesome explosive boomerangs that would make one swoon. Or explode. Depends on if you get hit by one.]

Yeah. You charge explosive energy into the tag for it to blow up later. Though, I didn't know about this method of making a bomb. It sounds rather cool. I just welded knives together for shrapnel damage and explosives. [ She loves science!!! Which is what chakra is (sort of).

If she sees someone explode from a boomerang, she'll swoon. That weapon is too awesome. ]

It's not... really a special method. It's just, the normal way of making bombs. No special powers involved.

Really? You just fill, contain and add a fuse? [ It's that simple!? ] Where do you get the gun powder?

It takes a mixture of some key components. Some of which are harder to get than others. The Malnosso don't generally make a lot of it available. [So. He scrounges.]

Hm. I guess this means I might as well just stick to explosive tags and melded blade bombs. [ ): aw man. She was hoping for a new explosive method too. ]

Yeah, it's probably for the best. Stick with what you know, right? [And leave all the gunpowder for Sokka!!]

Stick with what's most practical, I guess. I'm not adverse to learning more things but if gunpowder is that rare then I'll just use my normal explosives. [ FINE. IT'S NOT LIKE GUNPOWDER IS INFERIOR TO MAGIC OR ANYTHING |: ]

[Well duh! Magic is always better than science! Unless... it's space science.]

Well, it's not like like have to give up on it. I ask for extras when I go on drafts, which is usually the only time I need them. So it all works out.

[ What about space magic? ]

You ask for them? How does that work? [ She's thinking about some illicit deal with the Malnosso here. To say she's hesitant to work with clandestinity that the Malnosso practice is certainly an understatement. ]

You just... arrange for them to have your weapons ready when they announce a draft. It used to be a little easier doing it with the blue guy, but they'll still do it. When you arrive, your weapons will just be ready for you. It's pretty handy if you don't want to have to make fifty explosives. It's a lot of work for something that will only work once.

Oh! Wait! You're talking about the draft! I agree! That's a pretty convenient tool they have! [ She didn't think about that. She just thought of regular, average day village life. She has to try it sometime! ] Though, I'm not sure who the blue guy is? Mind explaining about him?
