Well, I've already improved on Marco's blueprints a little.

[He heads over to a table where the designs are all rolled up. So he flattens that out for Ginji to see. It's got a lot of the components worked out, but the drawings are all a bit crude. It's enough for Sokka working solo, but probably not too easy for someone else to understand. All the parts have weird, nonsensical names too.]

Like, I already started on this whatsit here.

[Ginji will follow Sokka over to the table and take a moment to study the blueprints carefully, one hand propped on his hip as usual, and the other tucked under his chin in concentration.]

...The crankshaft? [He'll study everything for a moment longer, then gesture to one area of the diagram. The names are confusing his understanding of the sketches just a...little bit. He guesses this is a case of differences in engineering and words being lost in translation from one world to another. How to work around it...]

And...this is where the valves are located, right?

[Fortunately Sokka recognizes the terminology. It's just. Not as cool.]

No no, that's over here. I've got 'em labeled as pipe turners.

[broji]

[He'll reevaluate the diagram, taking the corrected location of the valves into account.]

Right, okay. And these lines here? [He gestures to another series of markings on the plans.]

That? [He leans in and. Oh. Cough. He covers his mouth a bit, to keep his embarrassment to himself.]

Um. Just ignore those. I was distracted.

Oh, okay. [Wow, Sokka wasn't kidding about things being busy around here. Looks like he got interrupted from drawing up the plans a couple times.]

[Ginji will straighten back up and give them a last good look.]

I think I follow. So what metals had you planned to use?

Well it needs to be heat resistant, but also light enough to be used on the water. I'm still trying to decide what would be best. I'm usually working with something a little different than magic jet engines. [He shrugs.] Steel would work, but it's a little heavy. Magnesium might do the trick, though.

[broji]

Hmm... [Ginji taps the side of his chin.] The only problem with magnesium is that if it does manage to catch fire, it'll very likely explode. Steel might hold up better under the circumstances.

Or an alloy of some kind.

[markofthewise]

It depends on how hot the Ace's guys flames are going to be. [His best comparison is what Zuko can pull off. But proper firebending is less about heat and more about force and precision.] But. Maybe an alloy is a better bet.

[Ginji shrugs lightly and shakes his head. He can't even begin to guess how hot they might be. Not when everyone comes from such different worlds. Worlds with different rules and energies and technologies.]

What about testing the engine components?

Well I probably won't burn as hot as Ace does, but... [Sokka holds out his hand, producing a small pillar of flame.] I've practiced with Eferin plenty. [And closing his hand to get rid of that.] That and I have a blow torch and plenty of flammable liquid. I think we'll manage.

[He's not sure who Eferin is, but having free control of fire is pretty convenient. And pretty cool. Ginji's starting to get the feeling that everyone around here has got some amazing ability or another.]

Yes, you're right. I think we'll more than manage.

[markofthewise]

Then it looks like we're in business. [He holds out his hand for a manly handshake. Or brofist. He is good for either.] Glad to have you on board.

[broji]

[Someone really needs to teach this guy to brofist. He will settle for a handshake. It's just too bad Ginji's babyface kills whatever manly factor Sokka might have been hoping for.] Thanks! I promise you won't regret it.

[One day they shall brofist. And it will be cool.]

I'm sure you'll be fine. You can keep up on that, alright? I should finish this sword I'm working on. Let me know if you need help finding stuff.

[Yes. It will be so cool.]

All right, I'm on it. [And off he goes. Ginji's already figured out where some of the tools and materials are located. Hunting around for stuff is pretty much a daily occurrence for him, but he'll ask if he can't find something after several tries. It's bound to happen at least a few times.]
