Appointments Post

This post is for threading with Sokka anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals to get in contact with him for personal conversations.

[...This pause may indicate that she never even thought that far, beyond moral support like right now. In her defence, a lot has happened today and she hasn't had a chance to really think clearly.]

...You're volunteering? I didn't know you -- ["were any good with kids." But she's suddenly struck by memory of Luceti Valley, in which she was the kid. Well, that, and he hadn't explicitly said what kind of help. He might have meant indirect kinds of help.

After that hesitation, she abandons trying to finish that sentence and ends with:] ...Thanks.

[He was also designated babysitter of a Fire Nation baby. And that kid was evil incarnate so he can handle anything.]

Hey, don't mention it. I'm sure there's plenty of others that would help too.

[When you can handle an evil baby, you can handle anything.]

...Maybe. [She's feeling a bit more pessimistic than usual today. She shakes her head a little.] It might be a while before I can take you up on your offer, though. I want to give her some time to get used to this.

Yeah. I understand. [It makes sense to him and he hardly disagrees on that.] Just let me know if there's anything you need, right? I'll get it done.

I will. [She nearly thanks him again, but instead replaces it with a smile. It's a little weary, but it's not entirely forced, and that's better than any she's managed today.

And then she remembers one thing:] Actually, could you let Suki know I mightn't be able to make practice this week? I might be able to, since it's almost a week away, but... [She's not sure how well things will be going by then. That, and she's not really sure how much she'll be able to practice on her own until she settles into this.]

[Wow, she really is going to be busy. Missing practice and everything.]

Yeah, I'll let her know. I'm pretty sure she'll understand.

[It's more a case of trying to be a more constant presence for Sophie for a while. But she is going to be pretty busy.]

She had better. [But she's trying to make a joke, sounding mock offended rather than genuinely so. Her sense of humour has to be kind of forced at the moment.] Thanks. Even if I don't have to mention it.

[Darn. She called him out on that before he could say it.]

Fine. If you want to mention it, mention away.

Then I will. [She can't resist the urge to stick out her tongue at him, but she does at least slip it back in very quickly after that.]

I should probably go to see how the others are holding up. I'll talk to you later, okay?

[He would have a snarky comment about that raspberry she just pulled, but he'll can it since she's leaving.]
