Appointments Post

This post is for threading with Sokka anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals to get in contact with him for personal conversations.

You're kind of confident in a lot of things, aren't you?

Confidence is key, Shiki. If you don't have that, you can't be good at anything.

So I've noticed. At least I'm good at something. [It's an offhanded comment though and she immediately brushes it off.] Look's like the line's still pretty short.

[He gives her a quizzical look, wondering what she meant by that. Was that a subtle put down of herself?] There's less people than the first day. That's something at least.

[Yeah, those happen still. Even after 2+ years in Luceti and winning the Game, it still happens from time to time.] Guess everybody found their favorite things and decided to stick with them. That just makes it better for us.

[He'd probably have something to say about that, but not today. It's sort of lost in all the excitement.] Personally? I blame the hotel. The rooms have their own hot tubs. Personal hot tubs. It's like the hot springs, but with room service!

It's almost tempting to stay there all day...have you even been out to the hot springs yet? [She's asking as they approach the stairs to climb up to the top of the duel slides.]

Not lately. [He shrugs.] Maybe I'll take Suki up there once all this is gone.

Tell me how it is. Haruhi's been up there before but you know...I like getting other opinions.

Have you ever told me how long you've been with Suki?

It's fine. Especially in the summer. The air is pretty cool up there, at least until you get near the springs. [A shrug.] Just go with Haruhi sometime. [Because he totally won't regret suggesting that.]

Me and Suki's been together in Luceti for almost a year. In fact, we're about a week shy of it. Before that we had a few months together back home.

[Hmm...] Yeah? Maybe I'll get her to go with me after this gets old. Neku can come too, I guess.

...that's really cute. [Relationships are a huge thing okay. She's nosy about them and she tries to butt in everywhere.] Let me guess, you met her because you were acting as the traveling babysitter?

[He's not sure how it's cute, it's just what happened.]

It doesn't sound as cool when you call it babysitting. But yes. Her island was one of our first stops, actually.

I'm just calling it like I see it, Sokka. So did she end up going with you guys after you stopped there?

Nah, she stayed on the island. For awhile anyway. We kind of got separated. Firebenders came looking for Aang, we had to draw them away. So... it was a few months before we saw each other again.

[And hey, they're at the top now. Sokka is ready to go down at anytime, but he's willing to wait if Shiki really wants the full scoop.]

You'll have to tell me the rest of the romantic story later...like at the bottom. [She's approaching her own slide.] I think it's time for me to beat you at some racing. Ready?

[Hm. Romantic? Maybe he'll have to put more effort into how he tells it.]

Only if you are. [He steps up to the slide, still standing, waiting for her to get in position.] But I am heavier than you, so I'll probably go faster.

Wouldn't me being smaller make me more aerodynamic though? Guess we'll see. [And she'll be lining up in her spot to race him.] Okay ready?

Ready! [And down he goes!]

[And she's quick to follow, practically flinging herself into that slide and heading down. The tube of the slide itself has a few different turns and she's bending around them to get down faster...Sokka can probably hear her laughing though. What? It's fun. It's been a while since she's done this, and she's determined to...well, at least try and win.]

[Sokka will NOT LOSE! But stupidly in his efforts to make himself go further, he gets his foot caught on the side, gets himself flipped backwards, and will end up sliding on out about five or so seconds after Shiki does.]

[When she hits the water with a splash, she submerges herself briefly before popping up again. By the time she resurfaces she sees Sokka basically being spit out of the other slide. She swims over to where he is, a victorious grin on her face.]

What was that about winning?

[Aww crud. When he surfaces and sees that fate, he just ends up pouting.]

I got twisted around in the slide.

And...how did you manage that?

I just did. It was too loopy. [Yes. This is excuse.]

Or you were too cocky. Either way, I win. Does that mean I get a prize?
