Sokka the 67th - [Action/Voice]

[Well, apparently the experiment was over. Sokka was glad for that. He was also in his rightful body. He had to suffer a kiss from Haruhi for it, but that seemed worth it to have his body back. A small price to pay and all that. That meant that with all the madness over, he could finally get back to work. He felt rusty, but once he was back in the smithy, everything just felt right. But he also didn't have much in the way to work on, which meant he was going to have to make a courtesy call to Luceti for work.]

So... that was one of the weirder experiments. But it was pretty harmless. I'd rate it about a three on the annoyance scale. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with all these costumes I ended up with. [Maybe he can give them to Shiki. Surely she wants loads of peasant clothes.]

Anyway, there's a weapon shop in town - the Slash and Crash. Yeah, I know, cool name. I came up with it myself. Anyway, things are slow-ish around here, so we're willing to take some requests and commissions for stuff. Or, well, I am anyway. I can't make guns or anything, but your swords and spears and stuff? We've got that. We can also do repair or maintenance work too. So... just let me know. Or come in. That works too.

[With that out of the way, Sokka starts fixing his work area, noticing now that Haruhi managed to get it a little out of order. He'll spend the rest of the day doing manly things, like staring at his reflection in the fountain and sometimes flexing just a little to remind himself he's no longer a tiny five foot tall girl. On the way home he stops to stare at the Brigade building, thinking back to being in charge there. He then decides obviously he doesn't miss that at all and goes to get some food. He might also be willing to help make dinner tonight. He's had a little practice this past month.]

Fine. It goes great. You know. Slicing... stabbing... dodging... parrying. Typical training-type things. [How else does one put it? Just let him eat his pizza!]

Ah! But have you done any log rolling of late? Context! Context! It all wants context to be useful. Me, I learned the sword on a hill covered with grape vines. How on earth did that serve me on the fighting top? Answer: it didn't! I had to make that part up as I went along!

[Oh just eat it, Sokka. What are manners?]

[Well he will since you're talking! Gosh!]

I already have making it up as I go along worked out! It's the everything else I'm working on.

Ah. So the actual skill is wanting, then. It happens, Thunderaxe.

[And then he notes how full the younger man's facial hair is becoming.]

Your Suki, lad---what thinks she of your tuft of chin hair, there?

[He likes to think he's got the skill. It's just a matter of getting better. Ridiculously better.]

Oh, this? [Beard stroke.] I think she likes it.

They're funny like that, aren't they? How long are you going to grow it?

This long? I like it like this. [He thinks it's just enough to make him manly and rogue-ish, without looking venerable.]

It is rather manly and rogue-ish. Possibly you'll be wanting to braid things into it, soon.

[Sokka taps the brain alongside his hear.]

This one is enough for now, I think. Besides, beard braids isn't exactly a Water Tribe thing.

The chainsaw is at my place.

Your place! [Jack states that as though it is a revelation. No wonder he hadn't been able to find it at the smithy!] If I might know, Thunderaxe: where did you procure it in the first place?

Found it. [Sort of. But he lost that one.] This one was from Bil. For Christmas.

[Once they reach the house though, he pauses. He can't just go telling Jack about the secret Sokka cave, can he...]

Wonder if he's going to let us ask for what we want again this year. He seems to have been ousted from his comfortable place in that organization.

Your grass wants a bit of a trim, Sokka. You need a mighty powered grass cutting thing.

It's probably going to be a boring Christmas, huh? [As for the grass, Sokka doesn't see a problem. Winter will take care of that.] Anyway, wait out here. I'll go grab the chainsaw.

[Oh. Dull, waiting out here like this, but Jack will comply.]

Right. Waiting. Boring Christmas. Saint Nicholas won't be delivering any chainsaws to good pirates.
