[And now Sokka was a girl. Worse than that, he was Haruhi Suzumiya. After an enlightening conversation with that Malnosso girl, he and the real Haruhi had come to the unhappy conclusion it was better not to tell anyone what happened. Which Sokka hated the idea of, but the potential consequences of not doing it could be worse. Besides, if Haruhi could figure out how to fix all of this, he'd be back in his own body by tomorrow! Or a few days, anyway.

This, unfortunately, means having to live like Haruhi. And dress like her too. Girly top, a dress, and that stupid ribbon in his hair. As much as he wanted to just tie it all behind his head in a ponytail, she wouldn't let him do that. Can't blow their cover, after all. And then he has to follow Haruhi's schedule for things.

He leaves the house undetected that morning, eating breakfast on the go. This leaves him to try and do things that Haruhi would do. Which he is not at all thrilled about. Since he doesn't want to run into people, he ends up hitting the library to read about things that would help him be Haruhi. Like things about Japan. He'd never cared about Japan, but it seemed like he ought to know things on it by now.

After lunch (which he spends tucked away privately in the back of one of the restaurants), he swallows his anxiety and goes to visit Winry. But then he decides to look in on Shiki first at All Passions, like instructed. After that he'll warily enter the smithy, feeling oddly out of place there, to visit Winry. When these 'appointments' are finished, he'll arrive at the Brigade building. Early. Twiddling his thumbs until people arrive. Fortunately he wrote down a cheat sheet for who everyone actually is.

After the meeting (which is probably short), he'll be left with nothing to do for a few hours. That's when he opts to just hit the barracks and try to train. He'll be incredibly frustrated at the fact he seems to have lost his skill at just about everything. While he's not horrible, he's nowhere near his "A Game".

In the evening he faces the second worst part of the day - cooking. Being only skilled at cooking meat, he'll try his darndest to make a decent meal. It will be edible Shiki and Beat, don't worry. It will just be incredibly bland and very heavy on the meat. Sort of a boring exercise in chewing, really. Given that Katara has drilled family dinners into him, he'll be at the table expecting a group dinner.

Later in the evening he'll spend some time on the roof, grumbling about his fate, and working secretly on carving a piece of wood into a new boomerang. Day one was a nightmare. He doesn't think he's going to last another one.]

MORE IMPORTANTLY this is a body swap plot! It involves some of Haruhi's reality bending powers, so it's not an experiment/Mallynapping thing. What do you mean, other people? You and me've always been unmixy things, Haruhi. Since day one.

So why bother chatting, then? [Honest question from Sokka, but he poses it in a demanding Haruhi sort of way.]

...You're the one who asked what I was doing, Haruhi.

I didn't realize it was such a big deal. [Seriously, he thought Haruhi was exaggerating about Buffy being bad.]

I-it's not. It's just -- okay. Fine. The truth? My b--...Boyfriend's still recovering from the draft. These things are for him. No biggie.

[Jack's in bad shape, huh? He's tempted to ask, but he's not inclined to think Haruhi would care.]

...So you'll have to forgive me for being a little less than cordial. Y'know, times are heavy all around.

[ a flat tone. she and haruhi have a long history of being brutally honest with each other. ]

Fine. Well, keep on doing what you're doing, then.

[Kind of hard to be that harsh to her, but it's all he's got.]

You've got every right in the known universe to refuse me but....but could I ask you a favour, Haruhi?

What is it? [He's willing to be just a bit out of character for Buffy's sake.]

I'm...at least ninety-five percent certain that the straps on this plastic bag on my right wrist are gonna snap, like, any second now. And there's some pretty delicate foodstuffs in there and my arms are filled with all this other junk and could you just maybe y'know, if you didn't mind, try and free it? And save it? Before we end up with a cracked jar of tomato vodka sauce all over the barracks floor?

[ she advanced unsteadily closer to haruhi. her arms are indeed filled with so much stuff that it would be very tough for her to get to the bag in question without dropping the rest. ]

Oh. Sure. Just a second.

[Sokka has no problem with that. Haruhi would probably roll her eyes, but to hell with it, Sokka will walk on over and start freeing up some bags. Inevitably he starts taking more than he can actually carry. He's kind of used to having a lot more muscle.]

Whoa, whoa. Careful there, trooper.

[Argh. This is way too much, now he feels like his arms are going to fall off.]

Maybe... you should take a few bags back.

Right. Here. [ she reaches for a few. ] Look, if you just set those ones you still have by the transporter, I can come back and get them.

[ because the thought of walking all the way to cullen house with haruhi is a PAINFUL one. ]

Right. Got it.

[After setting those out there, he backs away to let her set her goods there.]

Picnic on the beach?

...That'd be nice. I should add that to the list. [ the list of things to take jack's mind off his convalescence. ]

But no. These are just general and sundry supplies to keep a burned pirate in house and home a little longer before he goes re-crazy with the cabin fever.

[He's not sure how much Haruhi actually knows about all this, so...]
