Sokka the 59th - [Action/Written]

[Today a not-so-unfamiliar face returns to Luceti. He is by no means happy about being here, stuck as he in a pair of New Feather pants. His old stuff? Doesn't quite fit. After all, it was clothes for a seventeen year old, not a nine year old. Maybe this 'little kid' would be happier about this if not for the fact he wasn't a mere four foot six just a week ago. He wears the indignant face of someone not at all content about being so short. He is not a happy little kid.

After waking up behind one of the stores, he goes to the clothing store first to put something on, going to the oft-neglected kid's section of the store. As it turns out, there's not many little boys in Luceti. At least not his current age. Refusing to wear girl clothing, he opts for an oversized tunic and pair of shorts that he secures with a belt. It looks even more ridiculous than the alternative. After that, he'll be on his way to House 56. After letting his housemates know he is home (and finding out about a new arrival), he decides that a mallynapping isn't going to stop him, so he heads to the smithy later to try and get work done. He may drop in on school for at least one class today, because he's trying his best to pretend this is all normal.

At some point in the day he leaves a written message, cautious to keep away from the view screen.]

Sokka here. I'm back from another kidnapping. So if you need anything at the smithy or anything, let me know. I'll get it done.

((ooc: Action him up at any point. Multiple timelines are fine here. And yeah, it's Sokka in a nine year old body, but his normal Sokka mind. He only looks cute. Replies will come from [livejournal.com profile] southernsprout))

[Well at least she's not suggesting they play them, since he's a kid. That's a plus. Still, that requires some thought.]

... well. I do have a board I picked up. It's for Earth games called Chess and Checkers.
kyoshi: (i just like him for his body.)

Let's try that then! I wouldn't mind learning something new, if you can teach me.

[And then their threads can trail off into obscure board games instead of making out. It's perfect.]

Sure, it's easy. It's in my room.

[He takes her hand to lead her there. Usually this would just be a gesture between boyfriend and girlfriend, but he can't help but feel even more like a kid doing this. Ugh.]
kyoshi: (he's smart most of the time. ....some...)

[.......... He...

....

He's so cute.

She will be desperately thinking this and hoping it isn't showing on her expression until they get there.]

[He knows. He really does. It's such a horrible, horrible thing to be so adorable.

Once they're in his room, he goes to get the checker board. Which is uh, tucked on top of his shelf. Crap. He spies it hanging over the edge and not wanting to ask for help, gets ready to start climbing it just a bit in order to reach it.]
kyoshi: (kindly remove your hand.)

[Suki blinks, hands clasped behind her back, and edges closer, trying to be subtle about it. Is he going to be climbing? Oh dear... on one hand, she could easily help, but on the other, his pride...

...Maybe she'll just stand back for now.]

[You know, Sokka really should have nailed that shelf to the wall, because it's wobbling rather dangerously as he steps on to the first level and starts for the second, because the board is juuuust out of reach.]
kyoshi: (but oh to get involved in the exchange)

[....E... edging closer again. At least if he falls she can be there to catch him, right? That wouldn't be as bad as outright lifting him up... oh dear. It is kind of shaking a lot, though.]

[Wobble wobble. Sokka has almooooost got in his grasp, but there's a good chance the moment he does, the whole thing is coming down with him (and on top of her too).]
kyoshi: (WAT.)

[....Oh good grief. Hastily she reaches out, touching her hand to his back in the hopes that it'll help stabilize him. If it all falls, so be it, but she doesn't just have to stand there.]

I think your shelf could use some mending...

[He takes hold of the game just as her hand goes to his back. He knows why it's there and that she's probably completely justified in doing it. Doesn't make it less humiliating. He's a little grateful, though, that she provided him with a convenient excuse that isn't his own height. He hops to the ground and seems to inspect the shelf.]

... uh, right. Yeah. I'll have to fix that later.
kyoshi: (baby we'd be so fine)

[Whew, that's a relief. It's not like he'd be gravely wounded or anything, but even little injuries can spoil the fun sometimes. She lightly pats the shelf, then steps back with a smile, shrugging her shoulders.]

I think it'll be alright until then. Let's just play the game, okay?

Right. Here, come sit down.

[He takes a seat at the bed and gets the board and pieces set out.]

Okay, so in checkers, you can only move diagonal and forward like this... [And as he demonstrates it, he launches into an explanation for the whole game. Fortunately he only knows the rules, but he's never actually played it. So it should be a pretty fair match.]
