Sokka the 58th - [Action/Voice]

[One day before his second draft. Also his second birthday in Luceti. Funny how things work out. Not that he's thinking much about the second part. He's aware of the fact he's seventeen now, but there's more important stuff to attend to today.

First on his agenda? He has 'presents' for Suki and Katara. Although they're not really typical presents. Just new weapons to help them out in the battle. He may have been saving them for a later occasion, but there's no point in that now. After his morning workout (whether it's with Master Souji or on his own), he'll have to go tracking the two of them down to make the delivery. After that, he'll also be tracking down Haruhi, most likely to her house, to deliver a certain bird into her care.

Since he's neglected it for the past week, he'll spend most of the day at the smithy. No doubt a lot of people are going to want to drop in and want to get their weapons sharpened before the big battle. He can't let Ed have all the fun, right?

At some point during the day, he decides to try and keep things light (yet slightly morbid) with a question for the journals.]

So, I guess tomorrow we get to find out if the meat we eat is also the talking kind too. Anyone have any messages they want me to pass on to next week's steak dinner?

[Hawky stares at Haruhi for a moment, then hops on to her arm. Despite having talons that could very likely dig into her bone, it's well trained enough to not do so. Although it may testily poke at her skin a bit, but not enough to be more than mildly uncomfortable.]

I really can't imagine any world where we would be hugging.

[godbent]

[Bird what are you doing. Have a slight glare. One to show it whose boss. Will you need to be punched in the snout to assert dominance? She's willing to, you know! ...Anyway.]

Yeah, same. That's why I opted not to. I have a cupcake if you want it though.

[Nope, Hawky is just sizing her up. No ill intent there. He may eventually move up to a more comfortable spot on her shoulder. Later.]

Uh, sure? Why not. [It's also hard to imagine a world where Sokka turns down food.]

[godbent]

[Well, there's a firm little nod, before she scurries back inside the door proper. The cupcake is actually on a plate right by the couch, so she doesn't have to go far before returning with the plate and the cupcake (which is even frosted!) on it]

[Frosted even? Will wonders never cease. He's surprised that she was apparently serious.]

Uh, thanks. Happened to be at the bakery, huh?

...Yeah, that's right.

[Actually... she made it herself because that was just easier for her but when he puts it like that it's better to just pretend]

[Yeah, see, he's just going to take a bite. Manners, he has them. Sometimes. He chews thoughtfully a bit and nods.]

It's good. But, you know, Regal. No surprise there.

[Anyway, he sets the cupcake on top of the cage and then lifts that up.] So, where should I put this?

Oh. [And now she opens the door wider, looking again at the hawk on her arm. She's actually mildly impressed with how (relatively) cooperative it is being.]

Just set it on the coffee table by the couch. Worst comes to worst if it gets in the way I can have someone else move it.

[Not that she... will. but she's making an illusion of normalcy]

[This is Sokka. IN YOUR HOUSE. But he does as she asks, setting it on the coffee table, taking up most of the space.]

Are you sure this is good? I usually have his cage somewhere a little more... private.

[But hey, hands free. Another bit into the cupcake.]

I'm not about to let you into my room, Sokka.

[Se said flatly with folded arms. Sure, it might make more sense but there's a certain bit of decency that needs to be considered here]

[She gets a flat look. Way to misinterpret his intentions]room. I've been in this style of house before... isn't there a big storage area upstairs?

[godbent]

Yeah, but you can't get in there.

[Because it's... well, no.]

[markofthewise]

... okay, if you say so.

[He'll leave it at that.]

[godbent]

I do. [With another terse nod. She might be doing him a favor but... well, she's still not in the best of all moods ever.]

Guess I'm done, then.

[He leans in next to her and... strokes Hawky under the beak, then holds out a piece of jerky.]

Alright Hawky, Haruhi's in charge. Don't get into any fights and remember to fly back after delivering messages.

[Aaand he stands up straight again, then nods to Haruhi.]

So... thanks. Seeya in a week.

[godbent]

[Haruhi glances from the bird... back to Sokka and then nods. Yeah, this concludes things, doesn't it?]

See you in a week. I'll watch over of him.

[Heading to the door, with his remaining cupcake.]

[With a wave, he steps out and closes the door behind him. Off to other preparations now.]
