[Sokka's day will involve a few things. One of them won't include shoveling all the snow out of the way of his house. It's not that he's lazy, but when his sister can take care of that in less than a minute, why even bother? Later his day will involve working on important things at the smithy, like the metal casing for a certain teleporter. And maybe some weapons or the key-shaped variety. Or helping New Feathers find their weapons so they can go about being dangerous. He'll also do lunch in the plaza... maybe do some shopping.

But why dwell on the bad parts? Before his kidnapping, Sokka is available for running into. Also, in light of the fact the snow is coming down pretty hardcore today and is, frankly, almost a blizzard, he feels inclined to make a voice post in the middle of the day.]

You know, we had that big blizzard about the same time last year. Well, not big big. I've seen bigger. But we had a lot of people get stranded out in that stuff. Actually, I met a lot of people being stranded at the Straw Hat's place... Uh, anyway. Yeah, blizzards. Bad stuff. Better make sure you got a lot of food at home, just in case.

[Hours later, on his way home, he'll meet some delightful metal men who will proceed to knock him out and drag him off, being nice enough to leave his sword and boomerang in the snow.]

[And as promised, about ten minutes later a blur of giant hair, goggles, and winter clothing tumbles into the smithy. Yes, he's suddenly very enthusiastic about this.]

Hey. You must be Sokka. [And he's very tempted to say, "Can I have my sword now?" but manners.]

And you must be- [Oh wait.] Yeah, actually I never got your name.

[Nice hair.]

Yeah, I know. I'm Tai. [Go on. Stare at my large and manly hair. Do it.]

So. What do you got?

[It looks like Sokka's hair does in the morning if he hasn't washed it in a few days.]

Plenty. Just follow me on over here, if you will.

[He sliiiides on over to where there are oh so many swords. In particular, swords much like Jack's.] I figure you'll need something more appropriate to your size and weight. Have you ever ever fought with a bladed weapon before?

[And Taichi's just going to follow like the eager beaver he is, curiously looking over what Sokka has.] Nope. Not really unless you count plastic swords. Does that part matter? I think that's what Jack's teaching me anyway.

Couldn't hurt to start with something a little less pointy. If you accidentally impale yourself, it's not my fault!

[He finds a cutlass. Somewhat similar to Jack's own hanger, but smaller and long overdue for being sharpened.]

Something like this might work.

Like I'm going to impale myself anyway. [But ooh...he's just going to look that over and attempt to take it from Sokka's hands.] Looks good enough to me.

[Sokka flips it around, offering it to Taichi hilt first.]

If you get any good with it, you can get something a little better. But this should do for now.

[And taking it! Sweet, a sword. Let's hope he doesn't stab his own eye out somehow.] Like I said, Jack's teaching me. I'll probably get even better than him. Thanks a lot!

[A hotshot, huh? Sokka gives him a skeptical look.]

I've fought Jack before. He's good, real good. It takes a lot of work to be able to do more than just swing a sword around, you know.

How hard can it be? I've watched a lot of movies back home about it.

Believe me. I used to watch the warriors back home practice and thought the same thing. You're not going to be at hot stuff as you think you will.

[A disregarding handwave as he moves the sword again.] Yeah, sure. Just you wait, Sokka. I'll be back for an upgrade faster than you know it.

[Okay, so lost cause.]

Yeah, sure. I'll keep my schedule anyway. Anything else?

I think that's good for now. [And he's maneuvering the sword to carry it out] Thanks for the help, man.

Yeah, sure. Good luck! [And don't kill yourself on it, jeez.]
